A New Challenge at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #590

Hey Friends!!

Just popping in with a card for the new challenge over at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #590. This round is a THEME challenge-TROPICAL.

I started off this card by stamping flowers from a free stamp that I  received from Paper Trey Ink in 2013. I am trying to use things in my stash and this set was PERFECT for this challenge!!

Below is the badge for this CIC590:

I used tons of different ink cubes for stamping each of the flowers/leaves. These colors are "tropical" to me.

I then used a leaf die cut from my stash layered under a Stampin Up! Sentiment from an old Sale-A-Bration set, Whimsical Words.

Do you want to join us for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #590? Hop on over to the BLOG for information on the challenge.

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Using Scraps on Baby Cards for Some Card Challenges

Happy Tuesday!! I am just popping in at the last minute to post some baby cards I created. I was inspired by this weeks badge from the Inspired By #166 challenge for the colors of my cards and the theme.

My first card is a top folding card. I used Lawn Fawn "Little Bundle" stamps and matching dies for the little baby clothes.

The Inspired By photo below is my inspiration:

I die cut my patchwork squares from paper scraps using the MFT Pierced Squares (retired). I knew I had to use the color scheme from the photo because it used ORANGE!!!

My die cut sentiment is from PTI-Wonderful Words Baby.

I am going to enter this into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Two or More Pattern Papers as well.

My second card is similar to my first. However, I loosely based it on the Inspired By Sketch

Here is the Inspired By sketch:

As you can see, my patchwork is not laid out like the sketch and I did not use a circle under my sentiment. Instead I made an imaginary circle sentiment block by surrounding the die cut with the little baby items. Can you see it?

I have not made baby cards in AGES and these were SO FUN to create. It was a fabulous way to use up some of my paper scraps too!!!

In other news, I am STILL moving my craft room. I cannot tell you how much stuff I still have and how much I have gotten rid of!!! I do need to get my new room in order, though, which means cleaning off shelves from my old room to haul the furniture upstairs to put all the organized crap that I have in containers all over my floor!

Part of my cleaning this weekend was getting a huge amount of scrapbook pages in actual albums. It has made miss scrapbooking and I might have to take it up again.

Well, I want to get this posted. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a GREAT night!

A Fun Weekend and Some Cards

Hi everyone!!! I hope you are having a nice Sunday. The sun is out here and I started my day off with a walk with my neighbor. The temperature is a little chilly but the sun just makes it so worth it.

I am going to share a couple cards today. I apologize to you in advance that they are all sympathy cards. I know people hate making them but I find them so peaceful to create. That is weird isn't it?

I used The Stamp Market's Ready to Bloom Card Cover Die for the white flowers. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Crushed Grape Gloss for the flower centers.

I stamped a sentiment from Your Next Stamp onto a die cut oval (retired MFT die) and heat embossed with Rangers Silver Tinsel Embossing Powder

I used a PTI embossing plate to emboss the paper under the flowers and combined sentiments from two different sets on the inside of the card.

I am going to enter this card into The Flower Challenge's #54: Shades of Purple and Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge: Beautiful Blossoms.

My second card I used the same basic supplies as my first card.

I changed up the sentiment and used My Favorite Things Deepest Sympathy Stamps and heat embossed with WOW! white embossing powder. I stamped this on a Pinkfresh Studio's Braided Oval that I die cut from purple cardstock.

I used yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dandelion Yellow for the flower centers.

Again, I used the same sentiment stamps for the inside of my card but added a die cut rick rack to hide an ink spot. I was not going to throw it away!!

I am entering this card into The Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #310, All About Occasions and The Paper Players Challenge #531: Spring is in the Air.

My next card is a card I made for someone who lost her baby recently. I was not able to go to the wake as I was not feeling well but I wanted to make sure that she knew how much I cared.

I used Spun Sugar Distress Ink to blend behind the Hero Arts Angel Wings

I used foam adhesive to layer the heart over the wings and added some Prima flowers that I have had FOREVER over the heart. I created leaves using the small flower from CAS-ual Fridays 4 Petals Die

The heat embossed sentiment strip is from Taylored Expressions.

Some fun things to blog about after my sympathy cards is that I went to a "Zoom" birthday party last night. They hired a virtual mixologist and we made drinks.

Before the party we had a shopping list for things to buy. We are not heavy drinkers so we had a lot to purchase!!! It was a lot of fun and a different idea to make everyone interact virtually.

I also received some purchases this week. I had sold some stuff on Ebay last year and bought myself a 72 ink pad storage from Organize More

I had ordered it a while ago and of course it came when Chris was home alone. I hate when that happens!! I just need to reconfigure my desk so I can put my ink pads in it. I am so excited!!!

I also received an order from Simon Says Stamp. I am a little mad at myself for this one. I am supposed to be on a spending freeze but it IS NOT GOING WELL!!!

A couple things are missing from this photo too that I forgot to put in there.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS night.

A Successful Sunday With Cards for Some Challenges

Hello everyone!! Just popping in to post a couple of cards I created for some challenges.

I had a bit of time today to create. My mojo has been a bit spotty and my energy low so I have not been getting into my craft room as of late. It doesn't help that I really need TO CLEAN because it sure is a mess!!!

For my first card, I used this weeks sketch from the Paper Craft Crew for my card. Please excuse the photo. I could not fix the lighting on it no matter how hard I tried!

Below is the sketch that inspired me.

I was a little bit liberal with the elements on my card because they wound up being a bit bigger then what is represented in the sketch.

I literally used elements that were previously stamped or die cut for other projects to put this card together.

The flowers are from Altenew and Paper Trey Ink, the circle is from MFT, the envelope was cut from a die from Mama Elephant and the sentiment was from Hello Bluebird.

This was one of the EASIEST cards I have created in a long time and will be sent out tomorrow to a member of the Union I belong to.

My second card I created using this weeks The Color Throwdown #619 and Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #297.

I knew when I saw the badge for the Color Throwdown that I wanted to use my new Tall Tree dies I bought from The Stamp Market and my Skinny Postage Frames from PTI. These were some of my new toys I bought to try to get my mojo going!!

I created the blue background on this with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and watered down white acrylic paint.

The sentiment is from a stamp set that was gifted to me from Stamplorations.

I absolutely LOVE how this card came out!!!

My next card was inspired by this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #461 and once again, I used the Color Throwdown colors.

This card was one I originally designed for The Color Throwdown but I liked the one above better.

I used some paper from my scrap drawer for the background and the greenery is from The Greetery.

The poinsettia is from the Layered Poinsettia from Spellbinders. I used Copic markers to shade it in BUT as I was doing it, I failed to do a color test with my background paper. I wound up having to fix my mistake by using more colors than I wanted so it is more blue than white.

The middle of the flower got muddled too because I was impatient for the Silver Stickles to dry. They were supposed to resemble the tiny flower in the middle of the poinsettia but when I was doing my layers, I didn't let the previous one dry enough!!!

I will fix it by layering some more over it once the first layer dries.

My last card I created using the Inspired By Challenge #150 and the sketch as my inspiration.

I used a Santa image from Simple Stories Simple Vintage North Pole Collection

I keep buying these darn pre made die cuts and never use them but this image was PERFECT for this challenge.

I actually altered the die cut by cutting some things off this side that just didn't go with this aesthetic. I also covered the fur and hat with a Scrapbook.com Clear Glitter Marker and the hat with some Glossy Accents

The snowflakes are from a huge amount I die cut last winter and the sentiment is from Uniko Stamps.

Well, I think that is enough from me today. I thank you for taking your time to stop by and I hope you have a FABULOUS night!!
