CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Calling All Sistah's "Remind a Sistah" Blog Hop

It is August 17th and you know what that means? It is a Calling All Sistah's Blog Hop sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!!! For the blog hop, you should be arriving from Susan White's Blog.

I cannot believe it is the middle of August already. This summer has gone by too fast for me. Unlike some mothers', I am not ready for school to start. Since I work in a school, school starting means my vacation is over too!!

Today the Calling All Sistah's Blog Hop is a little bit different. We were all challenged to design a card to "Remind a Sistah" to either check themselves monthly OR a card to remind a friend to make their yearly mammogram appointment.  (This is something I need to do for myself so this hop was a great reminder for me too!!) Who doesn't appreciate a nice reminder-especially a home made card?

Please be sure to comment on each blog as there will be 3 winners randomly chosen for $15 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps gift codes from the blogs on the hop. If you get lost, just hop on over to the CAS-ual Friday Blog to get the full list of participants.

I chose to create a card to remind a friend to make their mammogram appointment.

I knew what I wanted to do right away once I saw the theme. I started by using my Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter to die cut a t-shirt out of watercolor patterned paper. I stamped a phrase from the "Calling All Sistahs" stamp set onto the front with black ink.

I then die cut a white tag using CAS-ual Fridays "Tag Buddies Fri-dies" and stamped the first part of the sentiment with "Raspberry Jam" in and the second part in black.

I used a heart embossing folder to dry embossed a piece of pink card and mounted this over an A2, top folding card that complimented the patterned paper t-shirt. Next I cut the top part off the tag and adhered the remainder to the top of the pink, embossed card stock.

I used foam adhesive to adhere the t-shirt and layered paper flowers over the collar, using a mini sequin for the center. My last step was to randomly adhere sequins in a diagonal down the front.

The next person on the hop is Vicky Dutcher.

Want to join the hop next month? Visit the "Calling All Sistahs" Facebook page for more details. You must use at least one product from the "Calling All Sistahs" stamp collections to join. Michelle donates 50% of the proceeds from each set to the National Breast Cancer Society.

Thank you for stopping by today! Remember to check yourself monthly and to get a yearly mammogram.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

The day is finally here. Happy Valentine's Day!! I am going to post the last two cards for this "holiday."

The inspiration for both these cards were Cameo die cuts that I bought from the Silhouette web site. These cards are for Project Life but I think they are perfect for cards.

My first card I combined Bo Bunny and Doodlebug products to create a cute Valentine card. The main image is a die cut that I overlaid on a piece of white card sock and then filled with the red sequins.

I used a Doodlebug Valentine ticket with a Bo Bunny sticker mounted on adhesive foam for the sentiment. This card was so simple but has a big impact, don't you agree?

Supplies:

My second card was a bit more time consuming. Again, I die cut the main image. I laid it over a piece of card stock that had different patterns of Washi tape that were adhered to it in an ombre color scheme. Light pink at the bottom with red at the top.

The heart die cut was adhered with foam adhesive so the tape is more in the background.

I then looped pink twine around the card, tied a red tag and button. I then mounted the whole thing against a white card that I had adhered Doodlebug heart paper too. The card needed a little something so the last thing I did was to adhere a flag to the front. I LOVE how this card came out!! I think it is my favorite of all the ones I created this year.

I hope this day is filled with love and chocolate!! Happy Valentine's Day!1

More Baby Cards!!

I don't know what it is about baby cards lately. I seem to be addicted to creating them!! I bought the adorable Sweet Baby stamp set from Paper Trey Ink and I just had to use it.

The first two cards were inspired by a card from my favorite PTI designer, Dawn McVey

I used some old October Afternoon patterned paper I had, the Sweet Baby stamp set and dies by PTI, as well as PTI Half Note and Border dies.

For the second card I used the same basic design but changed up the yellow. Not sure which one I like better.

I used a TON of different patterned paper scraps for this card and chose to make it especially for a girl. Isn't that elephant cute?

The last card I created for a friend that I haven't seen for a while. All the stamps are from Paper Trey Ink and the lace paper I created using my Silhouette digital craft cutter.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today!!

More Baby Cards!!

On my last post I stated that I had created multiple baby cards using a similar card design. I thought I would do a quick share with you.

I created the elephant using my Silhouette die cut machine. Isn't he the CUTEST? I loved him so much that I used it on every card I created for baby!!

Here is a close up of the little guy!!

I created this card with a slightly different background. Instead of layering paper, I chose to stamp pink polka dots and finish it off with a heart border. I don't like this as much as the first card but it works.

The last card was for my friend whom had a baby boy. I I think I like this the best. I am partial to blue!!

Have a great day!!

Simple Valentine

I love forced snow days!! Today I created a card that I wanted to share. I based it on a card by Danielle Flanders. I didn't have the die nor the stamp she used so instead I cut heart borders out with my Silhouette die cut machine and used a $1 stamp from Michael's to recreate her card. I also added red Stickles Glitter Glue to the heart to make it pop a bit. I like Danielle's better but for me not having any of the same supplies and making due, I think mine came out pretty nice!!

Thanks for looking today!!

A Few Projects

I finally got around to uploading photos of some of the projects I have been working on. Today I am posting two projects I made for a baby shower I attended on Sunday.
For the first project, I used scraps I had left over from scrapbooking, a Suzy's Zoo Stamp and Copic Markers to make a fun baby card. Even though the girl was having a boy, I chose to use yellow and green to give it a soft feel.

For the bag, I didn't match the card exactly. I chose to use the same color families but decorated a bright yellow gift bag I bought on clearance with images I cut from my Silhouette die cut machine. I haven't used my Silhouette a lot so this was a lot of fun for me to play with.

I was really happy with how both projects came out-something that is unusual for me. I hope these creations will inspire you to make some of your own. The supplies are used below. Happy Tuesday!
