Today I am posting a fun project that I created yesterday for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. This weeks challenge is to create a project that contains some type of embossing.
For my card, I tried a technique that I had never used before. I have used texture paste on white card stock but have never used it on colored card stock. I chose to use a Memory Box stencil, some embossing paste and glitter over the paste for my background.
I then layered a vellum doily over it. (Please excuse the adhesive lines. Once I stuck it down I couldn't get it back up without ripping!) My next step was to adhere a piece of patterned paper that had been die cut into a square with a star in the center. I used foam adhesive to give it a little dimension.
The sentiment was stamped, heat embossed, and layered over the square.
I then die cut some stars out of white embossed paper and red card stock. I layered them randomly around the card.
My last step was to adhere gold star sequins randomly around the rest of the card. With the exception of the two on the sentiment, I just took a bunch of stars in my fingertips and let them fall where they went. I then used glossy accents to adhere them to the card. I LOVE how this came out!!
I would change two things, though. First, I think I would try to get some glitter gold embossing powder instead of using glitter. The glitter adhered but is falling off in some places. Second, I would not have the tape lines in the middle of the star. That bugs me to no end!!
Again, I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.
I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a wonderful day!!
