Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #22

Hello everyone!! I hope you are all having a fabulous Wednesday!!

It is the 16th of the month so that means another Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!! We are here with Challenge #22.

For my card, I chose to use the first column down-bling, white on white and scene. I apologize for the photography. It was hard to take photos of white on white!!

I started off by die cutting my scene with PaperTrey Ink's "Scene It: Skyscapes Die Collection" out of white card stock. I paired it with the "Scene It: Everyday" die. I layered these together and then over a die cut circle, also cut out of white card stock.

I then stamped the sentiment from PaperTrey Ink's "Petite Places: Church" in Hero Arts "Soft Granite" ink onto one of the layers and tucked in a church was die cut with the matching die. I used some "Diamond" Stickles to add some sparkle to the windows.

When the Stickles was dry, I adhered the scene onto a pinked circle that I cut out using the My Favorite Things "Pinked Circle" die. I added some "Clear" Wink of Stella on the sun rays coming over the hill, though this was so hard for me to get in any of my photos.

I set the completed scene aside and worked on my card. I used a Lifestyle heart embossing folder to emboss the hearts and then die cut the white panel with the "Blue Prints #13" die from My Favorite Things. I used satin ribbon to make a bow at the left side of the card.

I then adhered the scene over the card front. I added a few clear sequins to complete the card.

I LOVE how this card came out and it was surprisingly quick to put together since I used dies. I hope this inspires you to come on over to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge and play with us for Challenge #22!

Have a WONDERFUL day!!

Reverse Confetti "Candles and Confetti" Wedding Card

Happy Thursday!! I hope your week is going well.

Mine has gone quite slow. There is not much time left in school but the days are going slower and slower. I am itching to be out-as are most of the seniors that I work with. It is getting harder and harder to get them to do their assignments!!

I have a card that I created using Reverse Confetti's "Confetti and Candles" stamp and die set. My friend is getting married on Saturday. I cannot attend the wedding as I have a conflict but I had to make her a card.

I used red and white as the color scheme as these are her wedding colors.

This card is a TOTAL CASE of Kay Miller's card below:

If you have never been to her blog-RUN. She is fantastic!!

I had to do a little tweaking from her design to make my card. I did not have the cover plate die she used from Reverse Confetti so I used a PTI die and my  new Umbrella Crafts "Nesting Circles" to fake it!!

I have to admit that this new cake die is one of my favorite purchases that I have made in a long time. I can see me using this over and over again for numerous occasions. I did a lot of stamping and die cutting on this card. I did not use foam to pop anything up as it will be going through the mail.

The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink's "Enjoy the Ride" stamp set.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

A Wedding Card

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Busy here. Too busy to feel like crafting.

We took a road trip this past weekend to Cleveland for a wedding. Twenty hours in three days was a lot of driving!! We had a fabulous time, though with extended family. As I get older and the kids grow, it is harder and harder to get together in a big group like that unless you have a planned function. When we do get together, it is so much fun.

Today I am sharing the wedding card I created for the bride and groom.

I started out by cutting a piece of white card stock into card a 4 1/2" by 6 1/4" base. I then took a piece of white card stock that was cut into 4 1/4" by 6" and embossed the top right and bottom left corner. I did not have an embossing sleeve that was this size so I improvised by going up half way to get the area I wanted embossed. I then turned the embossing sleeve around to do the other side.

I then adhered a sheer white ribbon to the back of the embossed card front and adhered it to the card base. I used a Spellbinder's Nestabilities die (Labels One) to create a label that I embossed Paper Smooches champagne glasses in platinum. I then layered the champagne label over Spellbinders "Decorative Labels One" die cut.

The last step was to tie the ribbon and add little dots of diamond Stickles in strategic places on the card.

This card did not take me that long to make and I am really happy with how it came out. I do want to apologize for the photos, though. It was not a nice day and I had to take the pictures so I could fill out the card!!

I also decorated the envelope a bit. I used PTI's "Soft Stone" die ink with their "Garden Gild" stamps from the Make it Market Kit Mini and Stickles to jazz the envelope up a bit.

Well, that is all for today. I hope you have a great Friday!!

Creatively Reflecting and a Wedding Card

It is Tuesday here in blogland. The weather has been AWFUL here but I am loving it. I am so happy to have RAIN!! I think that I will feel this way every time it rains because of the drought in California. I am grateful for the little drops that water my plants and help me go through my daily life. Water is such a precious resource that we take for granted.

I have been browsing a lot of card blogs over the last few days. Sometimes looking at other people's work makes me doubt my own creative abilities. I see all these great designers on design teams or go to challenge blogs and then compare myself to what other people create. Then I lose my mojo or start second guessing what I am making at the time. This is something that frustrates me about myself.  I do not compare myself to others as a rule because I am not someone else. I try to be the best of ME that I can be. Sometimes I am good at it, sometimes I am not. Today is one of those days that I am feeling kind of not so good.

On another note, a bunch of companies are coming out with some incredible products. My Favorite Things is releasing their June collections tonight. I am loving their new "Penguins in Paradise" set. Instead of winter, it is filled with the most adorable beach themed images...with penguins!!

I am also looking forward to WPlus9's release. I so want the "Happy Mail" set that features the cutest bears and birds. However, my favorite is the "Party Animal" set that features the  most adorable giraffes. I know a friend that LOVES giraffes and think it would be so fun to create a set of cards for her.

Okay, now to sharing a card that I created for a friend who wanted a wedding card. I used Paper Trey Ink's "Make it Market Mini: Garden Gild" for everything on this card. I ADORE the cover plate and the fun die cut flowers that come with it!! It just screamed wedding to me.

Since it was for a wedding, I chose to make the card mostly white with little touches of color. I embossed the "love" in gold to make it stand out and used gold enamel dots from the kit for two of the flowers to form a visual triangle.

I added the extra flower die cuts over the flowers from the cover plate. I then used colored rhinestones as middles to specific types of flower.

All in all, I was really happy with how this card came out and my friend loved it too. As long as the customer likes it, then all is well.

I think I will be making a few of these to have in my own stash. I do have some weddings coming up.

That is all for today. I thank you for stopping by. Have a great night!!

Supplies:
All supplies are from Paper Trey Ink except the blue rhinestones (Basic Grey), clear rhinestones (Michael's), gold embossing powder (Ranger Ink)

Happy Monday and a Wedding Card

I hope everyone's Mondays are going well. Monday is my least favorite day of the week because it means I have another five days before the weekend!! I also am going to see "Wicked" on Thursday and cannot wait. I am going with some friends I graduated from High School with. We try to go out once a month to dinner, which easier said then done. They are my tried and true friends, though, and make me LAUGH when I need it.

Today I am sharing a wedding card I created for a co-worker. The theme of the wedding was "travel." My co-worker said the invitations were boarding passes and the RSVP's were luggage tags. Too cute!! She wanted a special card that went along with that theme. Below is what I created for her:

I started by softly stamping the white card base with a retired Stamping Up! script background stamp in gray ink. I then inked the edges in Pumice Stone and Stormy Sky distress ink. The post card and the envelope were pre-made embellishments that I found at Michael's and just had to have. I am so glad that I bought them because I found out that I do not own that much travel stuff!!

The tag is a Lawn Fawn die cut, which I stamped using Paper Trey Ink's "Grand Ampersand" set. I then inked the edges with Vintage Photo and Pumice distress ink.

I die cut the red hearts using a Simon Says Stamp! heart die. The little silver hearts are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I have to admit that this card severely intimidated me. I do not usually take special orders for cards because a) getting time during the week to craft is often difficult and b) if I don't have an idea, I am up a creek!! Once I figured out what I was doing, this card came together in no time, though.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by.
