Rainbows with CTS#383

Just popping in with a QUICK post with a card I created for this weeks CASE this Sketch Challenge #383.

I have had this die cut rainbow (Rainbow Stripes die from the Stamp Market) on my desk for MONTHS and I have shuffled it from one area to another. I thought it would be perfect to use for the sketch below.

I paired the rainbow with a stenciled cloud edger from this AWESOME company called A Colorful Life Designs and clouds from Reverse Confetti's Over the Rainbow Confetti Cuts. (I love mixing companies!!)

The sentiment is from Sunny Studio's Color Me Happy stamp set. I LOVE how this card came out!!

It literally took me minutes to create this card as most of the components were lying around my desk. (When I lose my mojo, I die cut my new products, stamp and color and then leave the for later!) We need rainbows today as we are experiencing a tropical storm!!

I am also going to enter this into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenges: Anything Goes!!

That is all form me today. Thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

Missing You with The Greetery and a Couple of Challenge Cards

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Have been playing this week in my craft room. I stamped  a BUNCH of images from some sets by The Greetery and some backgrounds using Pinkfresh Studios Pop Out Stamps to create two cards for some challenges.

For my first card, I used two challenges as inspiration for my card.

I used the sketch from Fab Friday #195 and Watercooler Wednesdays #282 Anything Goes Challenge.

I created the striped background paper and had fun layering my flowers in The Greetery watering can.

As I was creating this card, I was thinking of "styles" of cards and trying to figure out if I had a set style. I don't think I really do. I like all types of stamps-critters, flowers, solid stamps, line stamps-and adore any kind of paper-colored cardstock, white, pattern paper. I think if I had to pick any kind of "style" that I have is that I layer things. One layer cards are too hard to make because I always mess them up!!

I actually was not sure I was going to even like this card when it was done because of the bold background. However, it has grown on me.

My second card was inspired by my first, no challenges. Instead of the watering can, I used a mason jar for my flowers.

The frame was die cut with a Reverse Confetti die and was hanging around on my desk so I decided to layer it over the background I created.

The sentiment tag and sentiment is from Mama Elephant.  I just LOVE tiny tags!!

I used a little too much Aqua Clear Shimmer on the flowers. It was a new pen and it kind of globbed out!! You can see it in the photos more than IRL.

Well, that is all from me today. I hope you all have a great night!!

Multiple Monday

Happy Monday everyone!!

I had done a post like this two weeks ago and I want to make this a new "thing." I was originally going to post a video for the batch I made this week but looking at the footage I took, it wasn't so hot. The desk shook a lot and I just decided that it wasn't good enough for people to see. That doesn't mean the cards didn't come out, though!!

I have to admit that I had A LOT of fun making these cards. As a rule, I do not do multiples of cards. I find it boring. However, during this time of being isolated, it has actually been kind of fun.

Here is the first card that I created for this "series." I started off by stamping my butterfly, heat embossing it in gold and then using Zig Clean Markers to paint it in. I then fussy cut it out.

I actually painted all the butterflies first and then picked the colors of ink I would use to stamp my background from there. I used Pinkfresh Studios "Dainty Blossoms" dies for the white flower/leaf die under my butterfly and the tag is Reverse Confetti's "Grid Stitched Tag."

I then repeated this design using purple for the background and butterfly, as well as changing up the tag to Reverse Confetti's "See Through Tag." The sentiment was in my stash.

I used some DMC Floss in white at the top and some sequins from Cartwright.

I created the card in pink...

in Jelly Bean green...

and in mint green. I thought all these came out really pretty.

I had a couple butterflies left over so I decided to use some pattern paper scraps for the last two cards I created. I actually think I might like these cards the best!!! The white tags pop off the paper better than the stamped backgrounds.

I wish I had only done the leaf die cut behind the butterfly on all of the cards.

I think it looks classier. I also stamped right on the tag, unlike the first five cards.

Here is another purple card. I like the colors with this background.

I am entering these cards into Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #391-Anything Goes and Watercooler Wednesday Card Challenge #273-Marsha's Challenge-All About Occasions.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Freshly Made Sketches and CASE this Sketch Challenge Cards

Hi everyone!! I hope you are all hanging in there. I am sure you are all like me and just wishing this would all go away.

I have been spending my time this week trying to prepare to help my students that I support at school via online. This is a HUGE learning curve for me. Usually I reenforce material that has already been taught but this means actually teaching it. Not sure I am liking this transition as didn't get my degree as a teacher for a reason. This also means learning new technology, which I am excited about.

Another thing I have been doing is attempting to clean up my craft room. My computer where I will be doing my lessons is in my room and I couldn't have the kids see my MESS. I did a Zoom happy hour with some friends last night and one of my friends actually commented on the chaos. It is slowly and surely getting better but I have so much stuff that I am NOT willingly giving up.

I was able to get some challenges done this week in between all my learning and cleaning. My first card I created for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #428.

I used Reverse Confetti's Butterfly Wreath stamp set that I colored in with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Sympathy.

The background paper is from 49 Market Irrevocable Collection.

This is the sketch that inspired this card.

For the next two cards, I used the CASE this Sketch Challenge #365.

I LOVED this sketch because I can use PATTERN PAPER SCRAPS!!! Do you know how much paper I have? And my scraps are overflowing!!! I did use some paper from some new 6" by 6" paper pads that I have been hoarding.

The striped and yellow dot paper are from My Mind's Eye "Tutti Fruitti" collection. The flower is from Pink Fresh Studio "Dainty Blossoms" die.

The "happy" die cut is "Big Lingo Type" from Birch Press Design. I have had it in my stash FOREVER and have never used it. The stamped part of the sentiment was from Hero Arts "Happy" stamp set.

For my second card, I used the scraps from the first card except for the middle portion.

I actually like this card better than the first. The middle panel is from Pink Fresh Studio's "Just a Little Lovely" 6" by 6".

I used the same products for the flowers, the "happy" and the sentiment.

These were so fun to make!!!

Well, that is all for today. I hope you all have a great day!!!

It is all about the Birthday

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all doing well.

Popping in with some birthday cards that I created. My first one is a color combination I have not really used before. I wanted to make a birthday cake with chocolate frosting-which is MY FAVORITE. My husband makes the best home made chocolate cake and chocolate frosting combination. I ask for it for all my birthdays!!

I used Reverse Confetti's Cake and Champagne Stamp and Die set for the cake and champagne, and Lawn Fawn's Coles Alphabet Die for my sentiment.

I decided that gold was the perfect color to accent the chocolate with so I created the sentiment using gold cardstock and made the cake stand gold.

I colored in everything using Copic markers and added some sparkle and shine on some of the elements with a Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen.

This card was inspired by some challenges. Addicted to CAS #178: Codeword CAKE and Less is More #413: More.

My second card was inspired by Seize the Birthday's Challenge #183: Show Me Some White Space.

My jumping off point for this card was the cake element which I had in my stash. The pink, purply blue and aqua were inspired by the colors from the logo.

I used scraps of pattern paper for my candles.

I used CAS-ual Fridays Fun-Fetti Fri-dies for the hearts that are the "flame" on the candles. I added some Stickles to the flames too.

The circle was popped up with foam adhesive.

I was so happy to make these cards as I have had no creative inkling to do anything at all lately.

On another note, this past weekend I celebrated my birthday with my daughter and my husband in Washington DC.  My daughter goes to college down there and I wanted to see her. We went to downtown Alexandria on Saturday and walked around. The day was so beautiful!! We went into an old torpedo factory that has been renovated for artist studios. They displayed their wares for sale and I was able to talk to a few of them about their art and it was so interesting. I love to hear how people are inspired by things.

Well, that is all form me tonight. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a fabulous night!!
