Hello to Everyone and a Couple of Cards

It could echo here on my blog. May has been a very busy month and though I have been crafting a lot, my blog is the thing that has been suffering. Missed all of you!!

Though I have NOT been posting, I have been buying. Isn't that how it always is? I have had a couple of personal days over the last two weeks and I have had a chance to pamper myself. Friday I had a facial and colored my hair.

I was only just going to color my grays but my hair dresser had other plans. She tipped my hair in a blonder color, blew it dry straight and curled the ends. Made me feel like a million bucks!! If only I could do this myself but alas, I am hair challenged.

Today I am sharing two cards that I created using Mama Elephant's "Little Cat Agenda." I created these cards a couple weeks ago but never had a chance to photograph them.

My first card I combined Lawn Fawn's "Love Letters" envelope with a little cat from "Little Cat Agenda."

I colored my images in with Copic Markers, then combined them with a scrap of patterned paper and a Doodlebug Design "Paper Frills." (Anyone remember these? I have almost every color and decided to pull one out to use!!)

The little hearts were die cut using a CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Fun Fetti Fri-Dies" and covered in glossy accents. (I apologize for the dark photographs. It has been cloudy for days and I cannot get the lighting right!!)

My next card I combined the little cats with some Simon Says Stamps "Talk Bubbles" dies, PaperTrey Ink Sentiments and a Pretty Pink Posh "Stitched Film Strip" die to create my card.

I started off the card by die cutting and then doing a bit of ink blending on the Pretty Pink Posh "Stitched Film Strip" die cut. I layered this over a piece of Lawn Fawn "Dew Drop Line" patterned paper that was adhered to an A2, top folding card.

I nested the cats into the film strip and added some Stickles and Glossy Accents over some of the details on the stamped images.

I finished off the card by adding the Simon Says Stamps "Talk Bubbles" with the PaperTrey Ink sentiments.

I thank you for stopping by today. Have a fabulous night!!

Time Out Challenges #83, Happy Little Stampers May Challenge: Anything Goes with Dies and a Card for As You See It Challenge #149

Happy Monday!! Just popping in with two cards that I created this weekend for three challenges.

I made this first card for a co-worker who had surgery last week.

The inspiration for this card was Hannelie's card from Time Out Challenges #83. I mimicked her blending that she did on her card and used black and white flowers like she did.

I am also playing with Happy Little Stampers May: Anything Goes With Dies.

I used a dies by PaperTrey Ink for the frame and the stamped flowers.

A little simpler then my usual style but I like how it came out. I also used some scraps up, like the frame, that I had die cut to make sure the die worked. Am I crazy for doing that?

I will be sending this card out with some magazines and a GC for iTunes as a little pick me up.

My second card I created for "As You See It Challenge #149." I flipped the sketch below for my card.

And here is my creation:

The three elements are the hedgehog, the tree stump and the mushroom together. I know this is a bit of a stretch but it is "as you see it!"

I used used Distress Ink in two colors for the blended background. Instead of a banner, I used a die cut word covered in clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle and Glossy Accents.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a fabulous day!!

Happy Mother's Day, CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #221, AAA Cards #90: Embossing, Color Throwdown 442 and a Tag for Tag You're It Challenge! #71

Happy Mother's Day everyone!! I hope you are all being treated like royalty!

Our day is low key, which is what I like. I had a really rough week so just being home with my family feels good to me.

I went to the gym and met all my calorie goals for the day-just in time to eat the luscious chocolate cake Chris made for me!! I cannot wait until after dinner!

Charlotte typed me up the nicest note and gave me a tea thermos for work, along with a gift card to buy some tea. I am drinking different loose leaf, non sweetened brewed iced teas as of late. Feel free to make any recommendations as I have not found one I love right now.

Yesterday I created two projects for some challenges. It was a rainy day, perfect for organizing and playing in my craft room. I even used some NBUS, Darnell's acronym for "Never Been Used Shtuff," which I have a TON sitting on my desk right now!!

The first is a card I created using a faux watercolor technique with my Tombow Markers and an MFT butterfly.

CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #221 was the inspiration for the layout design, Color Throwdown Challenge 442 was the inspiration for the colors and this card also goes along with AAA Cards: CAS Game #90: Embossing.

I started off by coloring in the different layers of stamps with Tombow markers, squirting with water and then stamping on watercolor card stock. I used a heat gun between each layer to dry the wet marker. I also used a paintbrush to add additional ink to places I thought the butterfly needed.

I used ink pads in the same color as the markers to make the splatters. I then die cut the panel into a rectangle and stamped a sentiment from Altenew with gray ink.

I used foam adhesive to layer the butterfly over a decorated A2, top folding card base. I had used a stencil to add some polka dots onto the yellow the background and embossed a blue panel to match the blue in the butterfly (which looks kind of green mixed with the yellow) but is blue.

I added a few sequins in matching colors and covered the butterfly with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Marker as the finishing touch. I love how this came out and want to try using some other mediums to makes some framed "art" for some special people in my life.

For my next project, I made a tag to play along with the "Tag You're It Challenge! #71"

I used the Hero Arts "Layered Poppy" stamp for the flowers and the stems/leaves/buds. I added some Tombow marker on the leaves and the buds to give them a little dimension.

Here was the inspiration tag.

The poppies were inspired by the red tulips and my red "sorry" sentiment was inspired by the hello from the inspiration tag.

I used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen over the poppies and the "sorry" sentiment to give it some shine.

I added red and sheer ribbon at the top like the inspiration piece. I LOVE how this came out an will be using this tag on a card in the future.

That is all from me today. Here is to a fabulous week!! I am hoping mine is better then last week or I am in trouble.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Your comments are always welcome!!
