Playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #226, The Challenge #87 , AAA Cards #92 and MFT's Camp Create

Happy Tuesday!! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!!

I have been busy deep cleaning area by area in my house. Yesterday it was my bedroom and today it was our mudroom closet. Everything was emptied out or pulled away from the wall, dusted, vacuumed, washed, and a TON was purged. This is all in avoidance to cleaning the one room that needs it the most-my CRAFT ROOM!!

I did have a chance to play a little after all the work was done. I created two cards for some challenges.

The main jump off for the creative process on these cards was playing along with My Favorite Things "Camp Create" and using a resist technique, as well as AAA Cards Challenge #92, which also had the same challenge.

I used the MFT "Balloon Strings" background to stamp and emboss in clear. Then I used Kuratake Gansai watercolor to paint over it. For the pink card, I added some cellophane over the top while it dried to see what would happen.

Once the paint was dry, I used an MFT "Die-namics Stitched Rounded Rectangle" to cut the panel out. I then used MFT's "Stitched Flower" dies to cut out flowers from scraps of patterned paper in oranges and pinks. These colors were inspired by The Challenge: Colors #87.

The layout was inspired by this weeks "CAS(E) This Sketch #226."

I layered the green panel and the flowers over a pink card base for the first card. The sentiment was die cut using Simon Says Stamps! "Summer Greetings" die.

The pink was a bit bright so I created a second card using a white background.

I used all the same products on this, with the exception of the flower centers. I used enamel dots rather then sequins.

I think I like the white card a bit better!!!

Well, that is all from me tonight!! I hope you have a FABULOUS night!!

A Graduation Card

Happy Monday!! My FIRST real day of vacation!! I have a few goals this summer. One is to do some cleaning and purging. Charlotte does not have a job so she is going to help me. She is not too excited but beggars cannot be choosers.

I have slowly been cleaning up my craft room. It is slow going as I am a pack rat and NOT good at getting rid of things. I put them in the "to go" pile and then take them out of it days later. I am running out of room and all the "extras" wind up in a pile on my desk.

Today I am posting a card I created for one of my students that graduated this past Friday. As a rule, I don't always give kids a card because I would have to make too many. However, this boy was one of the HARDEST workers that I have ever meant. He has processing issues and he never gave up.

This card was probably one of the fastest I have ever made. I used CAS-ual Fridays "Bravo" and "Rad 2" stamp sets for the sentiments. The hat was from the "For the Graduate" set from PaperTrey Ink.

I added some clear Spectrum Noir Glitter Marker over the hat and covered it with Glossy Accents. I also made three score lines below the sentiments but you cannot see them in the photos.

The last step was to add a few sequins. The student asked me if the card was home made and told me he loved it!! I also added a GC to Ben and Jerry's inside.

That is all from me today. I hope your day is FABULOUS!!

Char is now a Senior and a Father's Day Card for Freshly Made Sketches

Happy Father's Day!! It is Sunday and though the weather could be better, I am enjoying listening to my husband playing video games to relax. He works so hard and has traveled A LOT this last month that it is nice to know that he can enjoy himself doing whatever he wants today.

Last night we celebrated Father's Day with my Dad. We went to dinner with my sister and family. I created a card for him using Freshly Made Sketches #292 as my inspiration.

I used Kuretake Gansai watercolor for my blue background and used scraps of blue paper from my scrap drawer to die cut the circles. The sketch below was my inspiration.

I also stamped and die cut images from Altenew's "Best Dad" set for the focal point. This set made it easy to make this masculine card!!

My nephew cracked me up last night asking why I hadn't posted it on instagram yet!!! It is nice to know I have at least one fan!!

To follow me on IG, my name is hobbitnoll. You have to request to follow me, which is kind of a pain, but since I work in a high school I have to be careful. We have a social media policy and students are not supposed to be your "friends" until they graduate.

In other news, I am OFFICIALLY on vacation. Whoot! Whoot!! Charlotte is also now officially a SENIOR and I have to tell you, it is killing me!!

This kid is my shopping partner, my television pal, and the one that I can get to laugh at me when I need it!! It scares me to think that this year will be her last year of high school. How did that happen?

She takes her driving test in a couple weeks and yesterday she drove Chris and I to the Father's Day dinner. (She turned sixteen in December.)

I sat in the back biting my nails the whole time!! Okay, not really but I played on my phone so I didn't pay attention. Chris is the coach in this area. I have no desire to be a driving instructor!!

That is all for today. I am hoping to be blogging more often now that it is summer. I also have BIG plans for learning to do videos. There is a pile of stuff just itching to be used!!

Thank you for stopping by and have a FABULOUS day!!

Inspiration With CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "I Believe in You"

Happy Hump Day!! I hope you are having a FABULOUS week!!

Today it is my turn over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I created a card using the "Love Notes" and "Calm and Loving" stamp set.

I started off by stamping and embossing the music from the "Love Notes" set in gold onto a white card base. I then adhered it to an A2, Kraft card base.

Next I used the heart circle from the "Calm and Loving" set and heat embossed that in gold on a watercolored red paper. I die cut it out and punched a heart out of the middle. I adhered the heart onto a white base circle and then used foam adhesive to pop the negative part over it.

I then heat embossed a sentiment from "Calm and Loving" onto a black card stock strip and adhered it over the circle. My last step was to die cut some hearts from gold paper using the "Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies" and adhering them onto the card front.

Simple and easy-something I rarely do!!

CAS(E) This Sketch #224

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Just a quick post today for a challenge. I created a card using "CAS(E) this Sketch #224."

I think this is the most fun I have had with a card in a long time. I actually created it before yesterdays card but had to add some extras before I took a photo of it.

As with yesterdays card, I used Spellbinders "Emoji" dies, patterned paper from my endless drawers of scraps and Simon Says Stamps! "Summer Greetings" dies.

Here is the sketch that I used as my inspiration. I pretty much took it literally.

I used a retired Prima stencil and blended some Tide Pool ink for the background.

I used clear Wink of Stella with Glossy Accents to give the hearts and the sunglasses a bit of shine.

The sequins were the last touch for this card.

I cannot tell you how HAPPY this card makes me. It is a bit out of the box for some people but I LOVE it.

I am also going to enter this into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes."

Before I go I want to post a photo of some little birds that we have nesting in one of our shrubs. Chris went to cut it down and saw the nest so stopped.

I have been taking peeks over this week at them-something the mother and father are NOT too happy about!! We also have another nest on our porch awning. I cannot see into it but those babies are LOUD!!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!!

I was a challenge favorite for CAS(E) This Sketch #224 for this card. I am so excited!!
