Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #545

 Hey Friends!!

Today I am popping in with a card that I created for this weeks Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #545. It is all about GRADUATION! This challenge will run for TWO weeks and I hope you decided to join us!!

I created a very simple card as I have very few graduation supplies. I actually have more than I could find, which sometimes frustrates me. Below is the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #545 badge.

Source

I masked off the center of a white panel and shaded it in with a yellow and orange shade dye ink. I then added a die cut cap from Sugar Pea Designs.

The sentiment is from an old My Favorite Things stamp set and I added some gold gems from my stash. It was a very easy card but I love the results.

That is all from me today!! I hope that you will hop on over to Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #545 and join us this week!!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Shaker and Stencil Release from Kat Scrappiness

***This post contains affiliate links that are used at no extra cost to you

Hello Friends!!

I am so excited today for a NEW April 2022 Release from the Kat Scrappiness Shop! They released new Shaker Dimension Sets and STENCILS!!!

I created two new projects for this release, a shaker card and a congratulations card with the new stencils.

For my first card, I used the new Butterfly Shaker Dimension set and the new Floating Dots stencil for this card.

I started off by creating my pattern paper background using the new Kat Scrappiness Floating Dots Stencil, the new Kat Scrappiness Stencil Brush and a stamp from the Kat Scrappiness Friendship Greetings Stamp set. I die cut it using the largest die from the Kat Scrappiness Embossed Edge Rectangles Dies and adhered it to a white A2, card front.

I used the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Postage Stamp Edged Rectangles to die cut a white postage stamp element and adhered it over my pattern paper.

Then it was time for the shaker!!! I used various colors of Distress Oxide Ink and Clear Embossing powder over the front of my butterfly. I filled my shaker with Kat Scrappiness Trix Mix II and White Diamond Sequins

I used the Kat Scrappiness Boxed Sentiment Strips to die cut a sentiment from the Friendship Greetings stamp set and adhered it over the butterfly with foam adhesive. To finish off my card, I glued sequins from the Trix Mix II randomly around the shaker. I LOVE how this card came out and cannot wait to send it to someone!!

My second card is one that is special to me because it is for my daughter. When I saw the new Falling Star Stencil, I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for-a graduation card!

I started off this card by using some blending red dye ink across a white, slimline card base. I then used the same red ink and the Kat Scrappiness Falling Stars Stencil to stencil stars over the entire card front.

Next I spritzed water and some mica spray over the entire card front. I then added the glitter letters that were die cut from gold and platinum glitter paper using the Kat Scrappiness Upper Case Condensed Alphabet.

I made sure to NOT adhere these letters in a straight line so that I didn't have to fight for it to be perfect!!!

My last step was to randomly adhere some pearls from the Kat Scrappiness Gray Opal Pearl Mix randomly across my card front. I cannot WAIT to give this to my daughter for her graduation!!!

Want to see some more fabulous projects with other new Shaker Dimension Kits? Hop on over to the Kat Scrappiness Blog!!!

What is a release without a hop? At 12 noon EST, we
have an Instagram Hop to showcase the release. Comment on all the DT posts to be put in a random prize drawing!!

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #526-Take Flight

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you all are having a fabulous September!!!

Today I am on the blog with a card that I created for this Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #526-Take Flight.

This challenge was really fun and I had to think outside of the box on what products to use because I own no stamps or dies with planes. I could have used other things but I really wanted to use a plane. I looked through some scrapbook supplies I had and found one in a Pink Paislee ephemera pack.

The acrylic element was perfect because it used some of the same bright colors that are on the  image badge. I was so excited that I had found something!!

I paired my plane with the Waffle Flower *Outlined Clouds die. I used both the positive and negative parts of this fun die on my card. I popped a few of the clouds up with *foam adhesive and others I adhered flat.

I added some *Diamond Stickles over some of the clouds too for a bit of emphasis.

I did not have the size I wanted for my sentiments so I created my own with my computer. I then adhered them over my clouds. I am quite happy with how this card came out.

That is all for me today. Head over to the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Blog to see the creations the other members of our design team created. I hope you decide to make your own card for this fun challenge. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Graduation Cards in August??

Happy Saturday everyone!! It is a PERFECT DAY in Connecticut-sunny, not too hot and very low humidity. I wish all days could be like this!!

Today I am popping in with some Graduation cards. Yes, you heard it right, I am posting Graduation cards in August. To be honest, I had the last three cards created in May but only sent out one! The card below I made this week to send out to one of my husband's cousins.

I used this weeks Global Design Project's Sketch (#GPD302)- as the bones of my card. I did change the "label" on the sketch to the numbers block. I figured attaching the numbers, the hat and the sentiment would work well for this sketch.

I used an MFT Blueprints Die to die cut the white and black polka dot stitched stripes. The mirrored cardstock numbers were die cut from Chrome Silver Tonic Cardstock using The Greetery's Bold Numbers Dies

The little cap was die cut using the Sugar Pea Designs For the Graduate dies and the sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

I cannot tell you how much fun it was to make this card! I am also going to enter this in this weeks Watercooler Wednesday Challenge-wwc321. It is Tristan's challenge and it is to make a Masculine card.

Even though this is for a girl, I am thinking it is more generic than most of the cards I create.

I created the next two cards for my cousins. They are twins and graduated HS in May. I just sent out the cards on Thursday. I am so horrible!!!

Again, I used The Greetery's Bold Numbers Dies as my focal point and built on this with a retired Paper Trey Ink set.

I added some scraps of silver cardstock behind the numbers to ground the whole focal point.

For the second card, I used black paper over a white card base, with silver numbers.

The hat is from Paper Trey Ink and the sentiment is from a retired CAS-ual Fridays stamp.

The black paper on the card front was from my scraps and is actually HALLOWEEN paper!! It didn't have a distinct Halloween pattern so I used it.

I am posting one more card that I forgot I made. I created this one for my nephew's college graduation. This was the only card that was sent out on time!!

I have to admit that this was the first card I created and actually was the inspiration for the second card I posted. Instead of using silver cardstock behind the numbers, I chose to randomly adhere silver paper stars.

I am so happy with how all these cards came out and am just ashamed of myself that it took so long for me to send them!

That is it for me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by.
Have a FABULOUS day!!

Hello and Some Graduation Cards

Happy Saturday everyone!! Just a quick pop in today.

I have been suffering from some intestinal issues the last couple days and have not had any time to play in my craft room. I ate bread for the first time yesterday since February to try to get my stomach back in order and I am craving vegetables right now. I realized I have not missed bread at all!!

I had scheduled a personal day from work yesterday and had to spend the whole day in bed. So disappointed because I planned on going to a scrapbook/stamp store that is about an hour from here to browse and then go to the outlets for some summer clothes. I have been on an "eating plan" and need to get some clothes that FIT!!

Below are some cards I created last weekend for some HS graduations. I am not going to list supplies or anything as I don't have the energy but wanted to post them before I forgot.

This one I created for my nephew. I combined a bunch of different companies for this card.

I usually try to get the colors right for the school but didn't get these right. However, I needed to send it out so it was too late.

This card I created with some retired sets from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. The hat is from a PTI stamp set.

I like this design for simple graduation cards. It is quick and easy and you could make a TON!! I am entering this card into the Addicted to CAS Challenge #160: Graduation.

I created this for my cousin's son that is going to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the fall. I used the college colors as my inspiration.

The stamps are from PTI and the die cut letters are Pinkfresh Studio.

I am entering this card into Watercooler Wednesdays Challenge #223: Anything Goes.

My last card I used the stamp set from PTI for my card.

The ink got a little runny on the sentiment but I fixed it after I took these photos with a rough eraser.

The colors were inspired by the college that another cousin's son is going to.

Well, that is all from me today. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!! Thanks for stopping by!!

A Graduation Card

Happy Monday!! My FIRST real day of vacation!! I have a few goals this summer. One is to do some cleaning and purging. Charlotte does not have a job so she is going to help me. She is not too excited but beggars cannot be choosers.

I have slowly been cleaning up my craft room. It is slow going as I am a pack rat and NOT good at getting rid of things. I put them in the "to go" pile and then take them out of it days later. I am running out of room and all the "extras" wind up in a pile on my desk.

Today I am posting a card I created for one of my students that graduated this past Friday. As a rule, I don't always give kids a card because I would have to make too many. However, this boy was one of the HARDEST workers that I have ever meant. He has processing issues and he never gave up.

This card was probably one of the fastest I have ever made. I used CAS-ual Fridays "Bravo" and "Rad 2" stamp sets for the sentiments. The hat was from the "For the Graduate" set from PaperTrey Ink.

I added some clear Spectrum Noir Glitter Marker over the hat and covered it with Glossy Accents. I also made three score lines below the sentiments but you cannot see them in the photos.

The last step was to add a few sequins. The student asked me if the card was home made and told me he loved it!! I also added a GC to Ben and Jerry's inside.

That is all from me today. I hope your day is FABULOUS!!
