Happy Sunday and Some Challenge Entries

Happy Sunday!! I am sure you are all getting ready for the Super Bowl as I type this. Even though the Patriots are one of the teams, I am not so into football so I plan to be crafting tonight. Chris is on a business trip to Texas so I am all by myself.

Haven't posted much but not because I have not been crafting. Had  situation with my dog last week. He ate a BAG AND A HALF of chocolates that were on my craft room floor. (don't ask-my bad-they had been there for over a week too and he had not touched them) He was mad because I kicked him out of our bed. We had to bring him to the emergency vet last Thursday, where he stayed overnight for some IV care. Zack seemed fine when I picked him up Friday. Then Saturday morning he was not putting weight on his front, left paw so I had to bring him to the normal vet for x-rays. Only thing wrong was his arthritis. So we pretty much spent $1300 on him in three days which adds up to a weekend away somewhere. Darn dog!!

I had some time to play this weekend with some challenges. The first card I created with two photos as my inspiration and used a sketch from January to make my card.

I started off my card by using the Echo Park "Falling For You" stencil with Ranger Candied Apple Distress Ink on a Neenah white 4" by 5 1/4" card base. I then added it to a top folding, A2 card base.

I added two panels of red scrap patterned scrap paper over the stenciled background and then added some Hello Bluebird images (the bird is from "Pig Day" and the elephant from "Puddle Play") that I had colored in using Copic Markers for the Daily Marker 30 Day coloring challenge.

I added some CAS-ual Fridays "Fun-Fetti Fri-Diecut hearts, that I covered in Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss and Glossy Accents. I popped the sentiment on from My Favorite Things "Bitty Bears" set last.

I ADORE how this card came out and want to make a few more of these for my stash for Valentine's Day.

I was inspired by the plate of red hearts in Time Out Challenge #128 inspiration photo, and the red heart picture in the Inspired By Challenge photo for my card. I used a January sketch Freshly Made Sketches #368 for the actual card layout.

For my second card, I used a sketch from last weeks CASE this Sketch as my jumping off point for another Valentine.

I started off by blending Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar Distress Ink on an A2 Neenah White, top folding card base. I spritzed some water on top, dabbing it off to create some texture on the card front. Again, I stenciled hearts in Candied Apple Distress ink using Echo Park's Falling For You Stencil.  This is my NEW favorite stencil, I think!!

Next I added a sentiment using Lawn Fawn's "Cole's Alphabet" dies, replacing the "O" with a little pig from Hello Bluebird's "Farmyard Little Bits" stamp set. The letters were all die cut from paper scraps I had, and the pig was colored in with Copic Markers.

My last step was to add several moonshine sequins, dabbing some Diamond Stickles in the middle to cover up the holes and the card was complete.

I am entering this card into Sunday Stamps #197 Color Challenge, Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge "Love is In the Air," and Just Us Girls Challenge Word Week #473: Love.

That is all from me today. I hope you all have a FABULOUS night. Thank you for stopping by!!

A Birthday and a Valentine

(Affiliate links used in this post, when possible, at no extra cost to you.)

Hi everyone!! Just a quick post with  some cards I created but never posted for some defunct challenges, as well as new challenges. I am great at doing that as of late but oh well.

The first card is a birthday card. I started off by using the CASE This Sketch #302 as my base and built on from there.

I used images from various different My Favorite Things stamp sets. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's Umpteenth Birthday stamp set.  I LOVE the fun sentiments from this set!!

I actually used a lot of images that I had previously colored and then die cut. Then when I have a card I want to make I have images to choose from.

This sketch was tough for me but I was determined to complete it as I am trying to challenge myself a bit more and get out of my comfort zone.

The polka dot paper is from my scrap bin.

I am entering this into Seize The Birthday challenge #157 but am not using the topping, stamping only.

My second card I created for two challenges-The Card Concept #106 Pink Challenge (which I missed but oh well!!) and Uniko's Challenge #51 Anything Goes with a twist of Love.

I started off this card by stamping two hearts in different pinks onto white cardstock using Simon Says Stamps Tons of Hearts stamp set.

I added a pig from Hello Bluebirds Farmyard Little Bits and colored it in using Copic Markers.

I then die cut the panel using Lawn Fawn's 4 Bar Stitched Dies and layered it over a couple of pieces of patterned paper scraps that I had adhered to an A2 sized, pink card base.

I added some Tonic Aqua Shimmer  and then Glossy Accents over the heart the little pig is holding and the tiny pink hearts to finish off my card. I think this is one of my favorite cards I have created in a LONG time and think I will be looking through my tiny images to create a few more.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. I hope you all have a simply FABULOUS Tuesday!!

A Few Challenges

(Disclaimer-Affiliate Links are used in this post, when possible, at no extra cost to you.)

Hi everyone!! It has been quiet once again on my blog. I have been taking a bit of an internet break this month. Charlotte went back to school last Sunday so I spent as much time as I could with her while she was home.

Today I have two cards that I using CASE this Sketch #305 as my inspiration.

My first card I kept closely to the sketch design. I tried to use as many NBUS (Never Been Used Schtuff-Acronym by Darnell) that I bought in December for myself.

I started by embossing with the Lawn Fawn Quilted Background die onto white Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched 4 Bar Rectangle dies so I would have an outlined stitch around the outside edge.

I then adhered this to an A2 sized card base. I added a Simon Says Stamp Outline Clustered Leaves die cut that I had cut out of mirrored green cardstock.

I added a PTI sentiment strip that I had stamped a Simon Says Stamp using the Happy Thoughts stamp set.

This card I am entering in the CASE this Sketch #305 and As You See It Challenge #192 Metallics.

My second card I kind of went a different route. Instead of a leaf cluster, I decided to do a border of stamped hearts in different colors and sizes.

I used Simon Says Stamp's Tons of Hearts stamp set for the hearts and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Breakfast Buddies set.

This is kind of a non-traditional colored Valentine but I wanted to mix oranges and pinks together. It was a dreary, snowy day yesterday and these colors made me happy. I added some mirrored sequins to finish it off.

I am entering this into CASE this Sketch Challenge #305 too, as well as Uniko's January/February Challenge #51 Anything Goes with a twist of Love  and Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Clean and Simple.

That is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!

Fusion Card Challenge and Some Non Christmas Cards

Hello everyone!! Just popping in to show you some cards I created this week. I took a break from working on Christmas cards to do a few challenges.

First, I made a card for the Fusion Card Challenge.

I only used the sketch because I just wanted to make a non Christmas card. Below is the Sketch and the image.

The flowers are die cuts from Spellbinders April Die of the Month Club and the leaves are from Altenew's Layered Elements Dies. I layered the flowers over white MFT Single Stitch Line Tag Corner dies that I had die cut in Neenah Solar White cardstock.

All the papers I used were scraps and I covered the flower middles with Tonic Clear Aqua Shimmer and then, Glossy Accents.

My second card I created from the PaperCraft Crew sketch #317. Instead of a square, I created a rectangle card.

I never entered the challenge because I was a day late and a dollar short but sometimes that just happens.

I die cut the flowers using Spellbinders April Die of the Month Club dies. The sentiment is from MFT's Birthday Chick set.

Once again everything on here is a scrap of some kind. I used MFT Circle Die-namics that are now retired for the scallop and the pierced circle.

I added some Crushed Grape Nuvo drops on the bottom left and three dots in the middle of the flower with a white gel pen.

My last card I made with my leftover flowers.

Again, I used the same Spellbinders flowers. I embossed the lines in the purple cardstock using a score board.

The kraft frame is die cut using MFT Single Stitched Line Tag Corner Rectangle. The little dots are Crushed Grape Nuvo Crystal drops.

I popped all the flowers up using foam adhesive.

Well, that is all from me today. Just wanted to get these blogged. LOVE how they come out and still have a few more flowers to use.

Thanks for stopping by!!
