Vacation and Some Challenges

Happy Sunday everyone!!

I had a very busy day yesterday. I deep cleaned my fridge (never got to the freezer!!), took everything off of my counters and scrubbed them down, and cleaned my stove top which was a MESS!! In between, I made Whoopee Pies because I have been craving them ALL WEEK!!

I also had some time in my craft room. I have actually had quite a bit of time to stamp and color this week but did not really make many cards. It was just fun to "play" and if it came out, it came out.

Today I am posting a card that I created for CAS(E) this Sketch #267 and Color Throwdown #488.

Here is the card I created:

I stamped and colored the Wild Rose Studios "Bella With Friend" stamp with Copic Markers. I layered it over a piece of My Favorite Things "Berrylicious" card stock.

I then adhered a strip of PaperTrey Ink “Lemon Tart” over the top and stamped a sentiment from the Altenew "Beautiful Quotes" stamp set in black.

I finished off the card by using a Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Marker over the butterflies and flower, which was hard to photograph.

To finish off my day yesterday, I went on a walk with a friend on a CT Rails to Trails. This is where in certain towns that they dug up where the old rail road tracks used to run and made walking/bike trails. They are so beautiful and incorporate miles and miles of places to hike.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have a great day!!

My Turn for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Thursday everyone!!

My spring vacation is almost over right now and I have mixed emotions. My daughter will be graduating from high school in June. This is the last leg of her senior year.

For all you readers that have little ones-enjoy the time!! They GROW UP TOO FAST!!!

In honor of my daughter's graduation, I created a graduation card combining the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Bravo" and "Rad 2" stamp sets.

I first stamped the "bravo" sentiment with navy dye ink onto white card stock. I then stamped the next two words with orange and red ink, all from the "Bravo" stamp set. To top it off, I stamped the "congrats" from "Rad 2" again with the navy ink.

I die cut the panel and placed it over an A2 sized card base that I had already adhered some patterned paper to.

I then punched out some stars that matched the three inks and adhered them around the sentiment block and it was complete. I LOVE how easy this card was to put together. Since I know a lot of seniors I will be putting many cards just like this in May!

The "Bravo"stamp set is being retired and is ON SALE now. Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your complete order.

I thank you for stopping by today!!! Have a WONDERFUL rest of the day!!!

Happy Easter and a Couple of Challenges

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope everyone has been enjoying their day.

I am just popping in to post two cards I created last night for some challenges. The first card I created I played around with some new stamps that I received this week.

I was inspired by three challenges for this card. The first being CAS(E) This Sketch #265. The other two challenges that I was inspired by for this card were two photo challenges. One was the Inspired By Challenge: Spring Sunshine and the other was an image from Time Out Challenges.

I used the sketch as a base for my card, the Inspired By photo for the background of my card and the Time Out photo as the color of my flowers.

I started off by stenciling the yellow onto a white background using the Echo Park "Diagonal Buffalo Plaid" Stencil. I layered this over a white card base and a piece of brown that I had embossed an diagonal line on.

I used Altenew's "Happy Bloom" set for my flowers. I colored them in by using Tombow markers as watercolors.

My second card was also inspired by a sketch and again I used Altenew's "Happy Bloom" set as my focal point.

I used the same watercolor technique with the Tombow markers to paint my flowers. I have to admit they came out a bit bright in this photo but they are more red in real life.

I used sketch #330 From the Freshly Made Sketches Blog as the inspiration for this card.

The "happy" die cut is from Sizzix. I used a sentiment from my very oldest PTI set for the stamped "birthday."

I embossed the kraft card stock on this card with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

Well that is all from me today. I had fun sitting down and playing-something I rarely do anymore. I colored a few things that I hope to make into cards if I get a minute this week.

Have a great night!!

A Challenge Card and Some Totally Random Creations

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Just popping in with some cards I created.

This first card was inspired by some challenges.

I created the patterned paper using an Echo Park stencil on white card stock which I stenciled with MFT "Daffodil" and "Blue Breeze" die ink. I then adhered the panel to a light blue, A2, top folding card base.

I then stamped the sentiment using Sugar Peas Designs "Pucker Up" stamp set in black. I adhered a die cut blue banner on top and a white square over that. Next I adhered the lemonade images over the front of the square, using foam adhesive to pop up the glass and the lemon.

I am entering this card into Fusion Challenge Card Sketch and the colors by "Inspired By Hello Spring."

I was inspired by the sketch for the Fusion Challenge and the yellow and blue colors in the Inspired By photo.

My second random card design I made for a friend.

I die cut the Memory Box "Intricate Bee" out of gold glitter paper and mounted over a Memory Box "Honey Comb Stitched Circle Frame" die.

I die cut the thanks using WPlus9's "Basic Greetings" set, colored it in with a Spectrum Clear Sparkle marker and adhered it to the card front. I then covered it with Glossy Accents. I added a crown of embossed gold and tied some gold thread around the top.

My second card has the same card design BUT instead of using gold glitter paper (I ran out) I die cut the bee and embossed it in gold instead. I think I like it better.

Instead of using the WPlus9 greeting I used a die cut Lawn Fawn thanks sentiment.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

The Weekend, Lemons and Some Challenges

Happy Monday everyone!! Just a warning-this post is pretty photo heavy!!

I had a busy weekend. We went out for my husbands FIFTIETH birthday on Saturday night. He loves french food so we went to a local place and the dinner was delicious. Today is is real birthday and we made a cake for him to celebrate.

Yesterday I spent the day in Worcester, MA with a friend. We went to the Crompton Collective to shop and then ate. It was so fun to spend the time with a friend and I was a bit of a spendthrift!!

I love when I go places and there are murals on the outside of the building!! This is located on Canal Street so the mural was perfect!! On the right they had all these succulents in these antique metal drawers. It was really cool!!

I bought Charlotte two of these tiny succulents. They were only $5 each. The photo on the right I took just because I LOVED the old feel of the building this collective was in. The hall looked cool.

LOVED this cool flag made out of license plates!!

I actually bought the green shelf on the left for my bathroom. I think it might be too big BUT I can use it in two other places if need be. The quote was on a huge canvas on the left and I took a photo because I just loved it!!

I LOVED the sign they had posted in one of the stores we went into!! The last photo was the entertainment we had during lunch. They were local HS students and that girl can SING!!

Enough about my weekend!! I also made a couple cards on Saturday for a few challenges. I am still obsessed with fruit so please bear with me!!

The first card I created was for AAA Cards: CAS Game #111-Use Only One Third and Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #284-Clean and Simple.

I made another lemon die cut card but using lemon as the base and a bit of green patterned paper on the bottom.

I apologize for the photo. It is a bit dark. I didn't have time to edit everything as well as I usually do.

The dies are from Spellbinders and the sentiment is from Sugar Peas Design's "Pucker Up" stamp set.

For my next challenge, my primary inspiration was the Card Concept's Challenge #89, Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge-Floral Frenzy, the Flower Challenge #18-Anything Goes and Time Out Challenge-Birthday Theme.

I started off by stenciling MFT Daffodil yellow ink on white card stock using a PTI lace stencil.

I then cut the bottom at an angle and adhered the stenciled panel to an A2, top folding Hawaiian Blue card base. I stamped a sentiment from MFT's "All Smiles" set onto a white card stock strip with Pool ink and adhered it to the card.

I then layered die cuts that I had cut out of white and aqua scraps onto the bottom right corner of the card.

I used some Tonic Nuvo drops in white for the flower centers and daffodil colored sequins around the flowers.

Well, that is all for me today. I hope you have a great start to your week. I thank you for stopping by!!
