Just For You

Hey Friends!! I hope you all are well.

It has been an absolutely BEAUTIFUL weekend, blue skies, low 80's and low humidity. We were able to give the dogs a long walk yesterday, something I was not able to do this week. The humidity combined with my 4th booster for COVID just killed me. I don't mind heat-I can handle it. I HATE HUMIDITY. It is my nemesis. I don't mind heat-I can handle it.

Charlotte is now officially back in Maryland-her new home. She registered her car, got a new license and will start her job on August 29th. She was home for almost the whole summer and I will miss her. However, I am a parent that feels you have to let your children go for them to flourish. I could not let go from my father after my mother died due to a lot of things but wish I had as much courage as Charlotte has. I admire her

I am popping in with some cards for some challenges. I stayed up late this week while my husband was away and stamped some images from The Greetery.

Do you do this? I have not had a ton of mojo lately, due to not feeling good but I did feel well enough to stamp. I used a combination of Pinkfresh Studio and Altenew cube inks to stamp everything.

For my first card, I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #548 as my inspiration.

Here is the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches that inspired this card.

I used some of the images I stamped from The Greetery on this card over the strip on the right.

I used paper from Fancy Pants Design on my card as well. I thought it was perfect for this card!!! I adore how this came out.

For my next card, I used the sketch from
Just Add Ink #616 as my inspirations.

I am not going to lie, my card is a stretch and has a lot more detail than the sketch but my card was developed around it.

I started off by using paper from 49 and Market. I used a piece from Tidal Wave for the bottom and I embossed a background using a Memory Box die on pattern paper from the Strawberry Lemonade Collection. I have to say, I LOVE this paper!! I know some people like to make their backgrounds and I do...sometimes. I adore pattern paper and love to incorporate it into my cards.

I paired the paper with some stamped flowers and pitcher from The Greetery. I used some orange mesh paper for the circle in the sketch and colored a piece of the Floral Lace die cut from Altenew at the bottom.

I covered the pitcher with Glossy Accents-leaving some bubbles in is. I peruse my pottery and sometimes the glaze does have bubbles so I made a conscious decision to leave it in.

I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in the flower centers. Won't be doing that again!! My drops were  a bit thick and didn't smooth out how I wanted no matter what I did!! My sentiment was one I printed myself.

I am also going to enter this card into this month's Flower Challenge. It was to use circles on your card. I think qualifies!!

Well, that is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Happy Sunday with a Couple of Cards

Hello everyone!! Just popping in with a couple of cards that I created this weekend.

I had to get all my creative fun in as we are taking my daughter to DC this week to set up her new apartment. She will be a SENIOR!!! The time went by so fast!!!

Since our dogs are crazy, we are having a house sitter come for the week. Thank goodness for family!!

My first card I created with inspiration from some challenges.

I used some new Pinkfresh Studio products for this. I bought the Happy Blooms Stamps, Dies and matching stencils. They were so FUN to use!!!

The two challenges that inspired me to create this card are Freshly Made Sketches #498, the Color Hues Challenge #23-use Pink and Yellow and The Flower Challenge #59-use dies. Of course I was late with Color Hues!!

I used a stencil and Twisted Citron Distress Ink to create the foliage in the frame. The frame I die cut using Pinkfresh Studios Braided Oval

My sentiment is from my sentiment strip stash. I added some gold pearls randomly around the card.

The colors I used for the stencil are Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Kitsch Flamingo and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

For my next card I used Simple Stories Simple Vintage Lemon Twist Paper and ephemera.

I started by using Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Ink to ink the edges of my white A2 Neenah White cardstock.

I took pieces of ephemera to embellish the card.

I added a sentiment I created on my computer. I just LOVE this paper set and had so much fun making my card!!

Well that is all for today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by today!!

A Birthday Card for Freshly Made Sketches and The Flower Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone!! Today was a gorgeous day outside and it made me happy to be alive!!!

My husband will be working from home starting tomorrow and this week we have been told that the paraprofessionals will be contacting kids to help with their school work. I have helped a bit with math, like doing a problem or getting resources to help the kids learn for that math class but I am a bit worried about the kids staying motivated during this time.

Today I a posting a card that I made for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #427.

Below is the sketch that inspired this card:

I did move the sentiment and hope that is okay but the rest I kept kind of true to the sketch.

I used My Favorite Things A La Modes Martinis on Me stamp and die set for this card. I colored in the girl with Copic markers and added some Sparkle with Stickles

I used Candy Apple Distress Ink to shade in the back and the red strip. The red strip I made a bit darker so it wouldn't blend into the background.

I colored in a purple girl too but have yet to make a card with it!!

I created another card for this month's Flower Challenge #42, Anything Goes.

I combined a die from Spellbinders and a flower from My Favorite Things that I had colored in using Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

This was a rather simple card to make but I like how it came out.

In other news, one thing I have been doing is cooking. I made Chicken Chili and cornbread the other night for dinner at my daughter's request.

I didn't have any cornmeal and actually had to go to the grocery store to buy it. I wound up buying polenta cornmeal to use but it worked. The cornbread was actually better because of it!!

Well, that is all from me today. Keep your chin up and hope for the best!!

Happy Sunday!!

Hey everyone!! Happy Sunday!! I hope you all had a FABULOUS weekend.

Mine started with Happy Hour on Sunday to say goodbye to a co-worker and ending with a gray day. I spent the nice day of the weekend making cards for National Cardmaking Day!!

Did any of you take the time to indulge? I actually told my husband that I set the WHOLE day aside to do so and I did!!! (With the exception of working out in the morning, giving my dog a bath and doing multiple loads of laundry to get a break from sitting!!)

Anyway, I am going to post some of what I was able to create-all using various challenges or were a result of technique videos I had playing in the background all day yesterday.

My first card I created for Freshly Made Sketches #405.

This sketch gave me a headache, I have to admit. What to put in these three squares was killing me.

Then I had an aha moment, looking down at three white squares on my desk AND the colored flowers that I had done in front of the television this week. (I have started coloring again when I watch TV. Anyone else do this to keep you from snacking? It works!!)

I had cut these flowers from the frame they belong in to use the frame. Did you think I made that card yet? Nope but the flowers were perfect for my idea!!!

I am also entering this into this weeks Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #241. This week it was Dawn's Challenge and it was a feminine "anything goes," as well as the Flower Challenge #37-CAS.

For my second card, I used the Fab Friday Sketch #173 as my jumping off point, as well as the photo from this weeks "Inspired By" Challenge-Truckload of Fall

I was so excited because I got to pull out my Reverse Confetti "Thankful Heart" stamp and die set purchase that I made last week.

I chose to color in the pumpkin a more muted orange/yellow like some I have seen on the farms around here. I love the alternate color pumpkins!!

I love that I was able to layer the flower pieces to give the card dimension. The tiny flowers peeking out from the large spray are the little "tags" that peeked out from under the circle on the sketch. The pumpkin I used in lieu of a circle.

The background was inspired by the truck, which I mistakenly thought was one of those wood ones. When I went to look at the photo close up, I realized it was NOT. Oh well.

My third card I am posting today is from a sketch challenge at Scrapbook.com Sketch Challenge from the forum.

It was a Mojo Monday sketch.

The stamped leaf is from Altenew and the sentiment is a mixture from Neat and Tangled, Newtons Nook and Memory Box.

I had the leaf embossed panel on my desk and decided it would be perfect for this card. The little flower die cut was just a scrap I had in one of my "extra" piles.

This card is NO MEANS my favorite BUT it I used a ton of stuff that was previously not used.

Well, that is all from me today. I will be back tomorrow with the rest of my cards from yesterday!!!

I thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS night!!!

Day 5 of the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge and Something for the Flower Challenge

Hi everyone!! Just a quick pop in. Not feeling well and had to leave work early today. Went to the MD to get a flu test but alas, it is just a virus that has been kicking my butt since Friday!!

I slept all afternoon and had a quick chance to play tonight to make a card for a couple of challenges.

I bought the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers 2 set and had yet to ink it so I decided to create a simple birthday card.

I started the card by stamping the largest flower cluster in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Superfine Gold Embossing Powder.

I then pulled out these really old paints I had called Radiant Pearls in Pink, Passion Flower, Sour Lemon and Bitter Apple and painted the flowers. It is difficult to tell by the photo but these paints have a sparkle and shine to them, like they had an overlay of Clear Shimmer.

I actually originally was going to make a one layer card with this BUT some mistakes happened and I had to cut down the stamped panel. Somehow the yellow got on my hands and there were little (and big) spots all over the white!! You can see some tiny spots on the panel I used but I didn't think it was that bad with the overall design so I went with it.

Well, that is all from me today. I tuckered myself out and need to get back to bed!!

I am entering this into the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge and the Flower Challenge #29-using your latest stamps and dies. I know I will be doing another Flower Challenge post later on because I have a TON I have not used as of late and just received more in the mail on Saturday!!

I thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a GREAT night!!
