Some Challenge Projects

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you all are having a great weekend. Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL, yet cold, day in Connecticut. It was so nice to see the sun so I will take the cold any day. Today is gray AGAIN, and it is so depressing.

My first card was inspired by a lot of different challenges.

I have had this stamp and die set FOREVER. In fact, I don't have a clue who even made it.  However, I pulled it out of my Christmas stamp pile and did some coloring on my stamps with Tombow markers.

It was kind of fun getting back to one of the first techniques I learned with my rubber stamps years ago.

I created the background by blending Distress Inks and doing the toothbrush splattering with watered down white acrylic paint.

I am entering this into CASE this Sketch #347, which was the sketch that originally inspired me to pull out this stamp set. I am also going to enter this into the Retro Rubber Challenges #123 as my stamp is really, really old. I am also entering this into two Happy Little Stampers November Challenges-Anything Goes with Dies AND Tis the Season.  I am also going to enter this into the November 2019 30 day Coloring Challenge. I TRIED so hard to do this every day but just got too busy to do so.

So for my NEXT card I used two challenges as my starting point.

I used a BUNCH of snow flake dies, as well as a Spellbinders Snowman for my card.

I had so much fun making this card, using TONS of scraps. All the die cutting was done with scrap pieces of paper.

The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp "Inside Christmas Greetings."

I am entering in this into this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #410, Christmas Kickstart Challenge #23-Snow and a new to me challenge, Pixie's Playground Snippets Challenge #365-using scraps.

My last challenge that I am entering today is the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I was inspired by Svitlana Shayevich's tags. She used products from Altenew but I didn't have these. However, I used similar items that I had on hand.

The tag was created with a Paper Trey Ink Bookmark die and cut from a scrap. The snowflake is by Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I added some Studio Katia pearls to my snowflake to make it a little more elegant.

An update about my dog. He is doing better. He is coughing less and has been his old, naughty self. Yesterday he was well enough to go to the groomers.

The workers said that he was so mellow and friendly with them and the other dogs. He never has been curious about dogs in the past unless it is to dominate. I guess he wanted to play with the other dogs at the groomers!!!

On another note, I want to post a couple of the projects that I was able to color this week.

The top are Hello Bluebird stamps and the second are tags that I will finish this weekend are are Sunny Studios.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!!

Happy Monday and a Couple of Cards

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you are all having a great start to your week.

I am popping in with a couple of cards I created. The first was inspired by Happy Little Stampers CAS Tis the Season Challenge and the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #245-Anything Goes.

I am obsessed with these little snowmen from Hello Bluebird but I DO NOT WANT REAL SNOW anytime soon!!

I did some stenciling with SSS Falling Snow Stencil and modeling paste. When it dried, I added an MFT snowflake die cut in the middle.

I then added some images from Hello Bluebird's "Frosty Friends" and "Frosty Littles" stamp sets. I did a bunch of experimentation in coloring my snowmen so each one is different.

The sentiment is also Hello Bluebird. It is from their "Typed Christmas" stamp set. I have an affinity for typed sentiments and tend to purchase them when I don't need them!!

Finishing touches to my card include Orange Stickles on the nose, Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen and Glossy accents on the bird and scarf. Even my CAS cards have to have a bit of shine or they don't seem finished!!

My second card is another snowman card I created for a previous Freshly Made Sketches but then didn't post in time.

I created the background using different pink Distress Inks and some acrylic paint that I had watered down and spritzed with a tooth brush.

Again, I used another Hello Bluebird Snowman, along with a SSS Snowflake die cut.

I know that all these cards are pretty simple but I have a ton to make and send this year unless I can get my daughter to have a photo shoot at Thanksgiving.

I like the simple sentiments too. I have not stamped any inside yet but will do that later.

On a different subject, has anyone been doing the coloring challenge?

Here are two days of coloring that I did on Friday and Saturday.

I added some sparkle onto the tree too but did not take a photo of that. Will be fun to make cards with these later.

That is all from me today!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Couple of Christmas Cards and a Bad Week.

Happy Sunday!!! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. It has been BEAUTIFUL here after a week of miserable weather.

I am popping in with some cards for some challenges. My first card is for the AAA Card Challenge. It is to make a clean and simple card, using some geometrics as optional. I created a CAS with some My Favorite Things die cut Christmas trees.

I used a stencil to create "snow" behind the trees. The sentiment was heat embossed in gold and is from the "Snow Globe Sentiment" set from My Favorite Things.

The green paper I used for the trees is from a scrap.

Again, this card is for the AAA Card Challenge.

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Snowglobe Sentiments
Stencil: SSS Falling Snow

For my second card, I used this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #409 as my starting point.

One thing I changed on the sketch was the size of my card. I created a 4 1/2" by 5 1/4" top folding card instead of a square.

For the paper strip in the sketch, I used the "Snowflake Block" from Simon Says Stamp. I used 1 1/2 blocks as one did not fit from top to bottom.

I then added the "Maria Snowflake" also from SSS as the circle element. I then added a little vignette with Hello Bluebird stamps.

I have a bit of an obsession right now with the Hello Bluebird "Frosty Friends" and "Frosty Littles" stamp set. They make the cutest little scenes!!! (and no, I am not getting any compensation for saying that!!)

Supplies:
Stamps: Hello Bluebird "Frosty Friends" and "Frosty Littles"
Dies: SSS "Snowflake Block," "Marie Snowflake," Hello Bluebird "Frosty Friends," Frosty Littles

I also have an obsession with die cut snowflakes. I keep buying snowflake dies and I need them like a hole in the head. I spent Thursday night die cutting all the ones I had multiple times!!

This has been a rough week for me. Chris was traveling and I have been dealing with our dog all week. Zack was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, due to an enlarged heart. He has been coughing and panting as of late and we knew already he had developed a heart murmur. We finally had an x-ray done on Tuesday and we now know what was causing it. We have added two heart meds and a diuretic to all the other meds he already takes.

This is when cardmaking has come in handy for me. I spent some time creating to get my mind off what was going on and it helped my stress level immensely.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!

Last Day of Sneak Peeks for the October 2019 CAS-ual Fridays Release is all about COFFEE

Happy Friday everyone!! I am so thankful for the weekend but cannot believe it is already NOVEMBER!!! This fall is flying by fast.

Today I am popping in with two cards for the last day of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps October 2019 release. My projects are showcasing the two new coffee stamp sets-Coffee Days and Cup Refills in honor of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

On my first card, I combined the Curtis Stencil and the new Coffee Days stamp set to create my card.

I did a bit of rainbow blending using the Curtis Stencil and stamped the sentiment from Coffee Days over the top in brown ink. I cut it into a rectangle and set the panel aside.

On a white, A2 sized card base, I stamped the coffee cups from Coffee Days in the same colored order as the stencil. In between the cups, I stamped the coffee beans from the stamp set.

I then assembled the card, adhering the stenciled side over the top of the stamped cups. I adhered a brown strip of cardstock to differentiate the two sides and give your eyes a rest.

My last step was to use some Glossy Accents over the top of the coffee beans.

For my second card, I combined the new Cup Refills stamp set, the Curtis Stencil and the Coffee Cup Fri-dies for a fun birthday card.

I started by blending green Distress Ink over the card front. I then stenciled over the blended ink with the same color.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Cup Refills set and stamped the coffee beans from the Coffee Days set below.

I then watered down some brown Distress Ink and used a tooth brush to spritz brown ink over the card front. When that dried, I adhered the die cut coffee cup and used Glossy Accents over both the coffee beans and the coffee inside the cup.

The new release is available NOW over in the NEW section in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store. Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.

October 2019 CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 5

Happy Halloween!! I hope you are all having a FABULOUS day. I know for some of you Halloween is up there with Christmas. I hope you are rocking your costumes today.

Today the design team and I are showcasing a card created with the new "This Sucks" stamp set, available RIGHT NOW in the NEW section of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store.

I began this card by using the CAS-Fridays Curtis Stencil to emboss yellow and red Distress Ink on a die cut, white panel. I then stamped the sentiment five times using different shades of red ink. These symbols represent swears and when I swear, I am often seeing red so I thought it was appropriate.

I mounted the panel on a yellow, A2, top folding card. I then stamped the second part of the sentiment in black ink.

I then cut around the edge of the black and mounted it onto my card using foam adhesive. My last step was to use some red Nuvo drops randomly around the card.

If you want to shop for all the new CAS-Fridays Release, use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.
