Christmas in July

Hi Friends!! Today I am popping in with a quick card I created for some challenges. There are a TON of challenges out there right now for Christmas Themed cards so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and create one.

I created this using this weeks AAA Card Challenge #194-A Twinchie and optional twist, Christmas in July, The Male Room Challenge #152 Christmas in July, the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC320-Dawn's All About Occasions

I created this card by using Mama Elephant's Little Snowman Agenda stamps and Hello Bluebird's Holiday Flurries stamp set and Typed Christmas stamps. It isn't perfect but I tried to get the sentiment to hug the edge of the circle.

I used *Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for my "sky" and Hero Arts *Tide Pool to stamp the snowflakes.

Clean and simple are NOT my forte but I love how this card came out!!!

That is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a FABULOUS night!!

Birthday Wishes

 Happy Friday everyone!!

I am popping in today with a card I created for some challenges. I have had some time now that I am off and have been having a TON of fun making cards for challenges!!

I made this cards using this weeks Global Design Projects Challenge #296. I am also entering these cards into the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC318: Kath's All About Occasions and Seize the Birthday #216-no topping.

I had a ton of fun using the CAS-Fridays Flowery Background stamp to start off my cards. I then cut the panel into two different rectangles so I could make two cards. I have been trying to do more of this!!!

On my first panel, I used a PTI die, black cardstock and heat embossed my sentiment that I stamped using WPlus9 the That is All stamp set. This was inspired by the photo from the Global Design Project.

I added some rainbow striped cardstock from Honeybee Stamps Over the Rainbow paper pad and a vellum butterfly that I die cut using Altenew Mix and Match Mariposa Butterfly die set. I used Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade and Carved Pumpkin to shade the vellum butterfly.

For my second card, I used most of the same products as the first but added a die cut flower that was cut using the My Favorite Things Stitched Flower Die-namics, a stem from the MFT Stitched Blooms Die-namics and some red twine.

I added some yellow enamel dots as accents. I LOVE how these cards came out and they were so easy to make!! I also was able to use some supplies that I had forever but have not used yet. I have been a HUGE collector and I am trying not to buy this summer. HOWEVER, last week was a bad week and I ordered a TON of things I do not need!!!

Well, that is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a GREAT night!

Happy Birthday using Die Cuts

Happy Thursday!! Just came home from the dentist. I have a Bite Splint that I have to wear at night for my teeth clenching and I broke the plastic on it biting down on it too hard. What are the chances of that? To make it worse, insurance won't cover it because it is the second one in two years I have had to get.  Ugg! All from STRESS!! Anyway, enough about my teeth!

Today I am popping in with a card I created using mostly pre-made die cuts. I am going to admit something. I have an addiction to buying ephemera...and then rarely using it. When I saw this weeks Global Design Project's Challenge #GDP284, I knew exactly what I was going to use.

The actual challenge was to CASE the Designer, Krista Fratt's card below:

The first thing that I was inspired by was the blue background color. I pulled out some Carta Bella Paper-Garden Melody-with a blue stripe and die cut it with a double stitched rectangle from Gina Marie Designs. I added the paper to a white, Neenah, top folding card base.

I then added a rick rack border die cut using an MFT die. I added a paper strip of plaid paper underneath the rick rack.

I then basically started playing with my collection Pinkfresh Studio ephemera from the Joyful Day and Indigo Hills collections. The placement of the two circles together over a label were inspired by Krista's card. The label had some writing on it so I added a flower under my birthday strip.

I then needed to balance the layout of the card so I used foam adhesive under the heart and added a flower with a "leaf," which is really a banner. My last step was to add some  red berry Nuvo Crystal Drops to accent the flowers.

I totally LOVE how this came out and it was so fun to make!! I think I am going to use a different sketch and use more ephemera for a card this weekend.

I am also going to enter this card into this weeks Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. This week it is Helen's All About Occasions Challenge.

Well, that is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!

Valentine's Eve

Happy Saturday!!! I am just popping in with two more cars that I created for some challenges. They are Valentine themed, which cracks me up since we don't really celebrate Valentine's Day in my home!!! My birthday is on February 15th so we just roll it into one.

I created my first card for my daughter, though I should have made it for my husband!! He LOVES Pandas!!!

This card was inspired by this weeks Global Design Projects Sketch #278 and this weeks colors on The Color Throwdown #629 badge.

Instead of ombre stripes like on the sketch, I used a Heart Border die from Mama Elephant. I chose to die cut it from the colors on the Color Throwdown badge.

The panda was dug out from my stash of colored in images. It is from the Lovely Pandas by Gerda Steiner.

The sentiment strips were from Taylored Expressions Mini Strips Valentine. I tucked some die cut hearts around the little bear that were die cut from a retired CAS-Fridays die.

My second card I had fun creating using Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Heart Stencil and a die cut sentiment using SSS's Big Valentine's Day die.

I used the new Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink along with Candied Apple and Spun Sugar.

The sentiment is three layers of red cardstock that I covered with Christmas Red Stickles to give it some sparkle and shine.

I am entering this card into some challenges too. I am entering this into Watercooler Wednesdays WWC 308, The Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #152 and The Card Concept #148. The WWC308 was to create a card for an occasion and the colors were inspired by The Cupcake Inspiration and The Card Concept.

That is all from me today. I have one more card I created for Valentine's Day but I had to fix a boo boo and need to let it dry. I will post it maybe tomorrow.

Have a FABULOUS night!!

Happy Monday and a Couple of Cards

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you are all having a great start to your week.

I am popping in with a couple of cards I created. The first was inspired by Happy Little Stampers CAS Tis the Season Challenge and the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #245-Anything Goes.

I am obsessed with these little snowmen from Hello Bluebird but I DO NOT WANT REAL SNOW anytime soon!!

I did some stenciling with SSS Falling Snow Stencil and modeling paste. When it dried, I added an MFT snowflake die cut in the middle.

I then added some images from Hello Bluebird's "Frosty Friends" and "Frosty Littles" stamp sets. I did a bunch of experimentation in coloring my snowmen so each one is different.

The sentiment is also Hello Bluebird. It is from their "Typed Christmas" stamp set. I have an affinity for typed sentiments and tend to purchase them when I don't need them!!

Finishing touches to my card include Orange Stickles on the nose, Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen and Glossy accents on the bird and scarf. Even my CAS cards have to have a bit of shine or they don't seem finished!!

My second card is another snowman card I created for a previous Freshly Made Sketches but then didn't post in time.

I created the background using different pink Distress Inks and some acrylic paint that I had watered down and spritzed with a tooth brush.

Again, I used another Hello Bluebird Snowman, along with a SSS Snowflake die cut.

I know that all these cards are pretty simple but I have a ton to make and send this year unless I can get my daughter to have a photo shoot at Thanksgiving.

I like the simple sentiments too. I have not stamped any inside yet but will do that later.

On a different subject, has anyone been doing the coloring challenge?

Here are two days of coloring that I did on Friday and Saturday.

I added some sparkle onto the tree too but did not take a photo of that. Will be fun to make cards with these later.

That is all from me today!! Have a FABULOUS day!!
