Happy Hump Day!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! So far this day has been pretty tiring.

I was up all night with my dog last night. He has had intestinal issues in a big way and then had a MAJOR seizure at about 3:00 am. (He has been on seizure meds for 10 years.) Then, he couldn't move for an hour and had really shallow breathing. I debated on taking to the ER vet but he is old and we would not be doing any surgery on him so I wound up waiting and taking him to the normal vet this morning. Of course he did not act sick and ate this morning after keeping me up all night!! Anyway, we are trying a few things but it just has not been fun.

Today I am going to showcase some cards I created using some of the papers and images that I won from Lisa Elton from My Paper Tales. Below is a photo of the kit and the beautiful card she sent.

It was a mini kit and it was so FUN. I kind of failed, though, because I wound up mixing some of the images with stuff from my stash. This was my fault because I should NOT have colored some of the images in without matching the paper first.

For the my first card, all the papers and images were from the kit. I did use a die to cut the frame and the bow.

The pattern paper is from Carta Bella's Spring Market and the flowers are from WPlus9's "Hello & Thanks" stamp set.

I used Copic markers to color in the flowers and then added some Diamond Stickles and Glossy Accents over the top.

The center "tag" was popped up using foam adhesive.

For my second card, I used the pink cardstock from the inside of the frame as my starting point and matched it with the flower paper from the kit.

I added a Spellbinders frame, with a stamped sentiment that is from Memory Box.

Once again I used Copic markers to color in the floral images and then covered them with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen. The roses were then covered in Glossy Accents.

My next card I went off the deep end and added some of my own stuff to the card.

The green background paper is from the kit. I added the rose paper that I had from my stash (a piece of 12" by 12" paper that I cut a strip from) over the green. Then I tucked a pink tag with some twine behind a panel I cut from another piece of patterned paper.

On the focal panel I colored in the roses with some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen and Glossy Accents. I added some Diamond Stickles on the tiny flowers.

The entire black panel is then popped off the card with some fun foam.

For the last card in this bunch, I totally went off the kit. I only used the stamped image.

Isn't she sweet? I colored her in with Copic markers. It isn't really no line coloring because I could not cover up all the lines in the stamp but I think it is cute.

That brown piece of patterned paper is from my scraps and is about six years old!!! I added a purple frame that I die cut using Sunny Studio's "Fancy Frames" dies. This has never been used and I will definatly be using this again!!

The thanks was die cut using a SSS die.

I will be entering the first card in the Water Cooler Wednesday Challenge #219-Anything Feminine Goes.

That is all from me today. I thank Lisa for sending me this fun kit. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!!

I am just posting a quick card today that I created for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #384. I wanted to make sure I got it into before the deadline!!

I created this using images from Miss Ink Stamps "Say Cheese" stamp set. I ADORE this little mouse and the images in the set are just too cute!

Below is the sketch I used as my jumping off point.

I flipped it clockwise so that it was landscape rather than portrait.

The sky was done with a stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and the rest was colored in with Copic markers. I did a TON of masking on this and am happy with how it came out.

I added some Diamond Stickles over the butterfly and Glossy Accents on the frog hat eyes and the cheese. I covered the frog hat with a Nuvo Clear Gloss Sparkle pen.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS night!!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge #256

Hey peeps. Just popping by for a quick post with two projects for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #256. I have been in the craft room trying to craft and it looks like a bomb has gone off!! (no photos-too embarrassing!!)

I created my first card using LDRS Creative's "Sweet Treats" set.

I kind of made a mess of the splattering and it went to the right of my card as well as the left. Then I put my finger in it before it was completely dry and had to use my sand eraser to fix it.

The pig was colored in with Copic markers. I used a white gel pen for the little dots on his cheeks and his eyes.

The circle he sits on was created with two types of Distress Ink and a stencil. The pig is actually on a mini action wobbler but I don't know how to put a video in a post yet.

Here is the fun sketch from the Paper Craft Crew that I used (PCC256):

For my second card, I chose to use a piece of patterned paper from Bella BLVD's "Make a Mark" 6" by 8" paper pad and die cut as my focal point.

The paper already had a fun sentiment and all I did was pop a die cut, some gold Washi tape and a few gold pearls and it was a card!!!

I was surprised at how easy it all came together!! What was even better, the die cut was a left over from one of my SJ card kits. In August we are choosing to use all the bits and pieces we didn't use in the first round.

Well that is all form me today. I am off to meet one of my friend's for breakfast. Next week is back to work so I am cramming in all my socialization this week!!

Have a fabulous day!!

I've been Spotted, another Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" card, a busy Wednesday and a Simon Says Friends or Superhero Challenge

Hello my friends!! I am sitting her trying to wind down from my very busy day. I feel like all I have done since I left work today is drive.

Char had two different tutors today. She is presently being tutored in math and English for her exams. While she was at one of her tutor's, I ran to the gym to do a quick workout. I am trying to get that in as much as possible this week since I have eaten Whoopee pies for breakfast for the past two days. Sigh. There is only one left and I already know it is for my breakfast tomorrow and then they will be gone until I make them in the fall for work. (Work loves my Whoopee Pies so I bring them in once in a while for my department.)

To top my night off, I had to take our dog to the vet. He has an ear infection!! I think it was from when I gave him a bath a couple weeks ago. Now he has to have ear treatments twice a day and he was not so thrilled with the first. I also gave him another bath when we got home because he was lying on the vet's floor. That grosses me out.

Today I am sharing two things. One is the link to a scrapbook layout that I did last month. I used some Jillibean Soup paper and Jen Harkin asked if she could put it on the Bean Talk blog for her "Soup Spotting" post today. I was really flattered and of course I said sure!!! It is one of my favorite pages to date.

I also wanted to share the second of my Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" cards that I created. I had a lot of fun creating a little "scene" in back of this one.

I used my new My Favorite Things die to cut out the polka dot patterned paper and mounted it onto a top folding card. I then die cut a rounded rectangle and masked off a strip with post it tape and blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink in the center.

Next I masked the yellow off and inked the sky in with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment and then mounted the square onto the card front using foam adhesive.

I used a cloud die from Paper Trey Ink to die cut some clouds and then sponged the edges with some Tumbled Glass. I mounted them onto the rectangle so that the outer edges of each were hanging off the sides. I then used foam adhesive to mount my "Tiny Heroes" image. The last step was to randomly adhere sequins.

I LOVE how this came out, with the exception of the smudged sentiment. I used Wink of Stella on this part (not that you can tell from the photo!) and it smudged. I had already put it together when I noticed and I know I will ruin it if I take it apart.

I am entering this into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Friends or Superhero." I think it is perfect for this!!

I thank you for stopping by. Farewell until next time....

Throw Back Thursday and a Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!!

Is everyone ready for some Trick or Treating? I know my daughter is. She will be dressing up as a medical officer from the original Star Trek. Her father has her hooked!!

To commemorate Halloween AND it being Thursday, I thought I would create a card using a Halloween Stamp from my archives. This stamp was from Stampin Up! set "Costume Bears." It was retired years ago but I thought it was so cute that I kept it. I have so many sets of stamps that I barely use that I am going to try to dig them out and do a series of "throw back" Thursdays using my older stamp sets.

I first stamped the bear and then cut it out using the end of one of the PTI Half and Half Die. I then colored in the bear using various Copic Markers. I then layered patterned paper and card stock in yellow, black, and purple on the front of a card. Next I adhered the stamped image using foam adhesive. I die cut three stars and adhered two with foam tape and one with general adhesive in a random way across the card. The last step was to cover the stars on the stamped bear's costume and the three die cut stars in diamond Stickles. I LOVE the way this turned out. Isn't it so cute?

I hope you all have a fabulous Halloween!! Don't eat too much candy! (I know I will. I made the mistake of buying the kind I like!)
