A Happy Birthday Card for a Challenge

 Hello everyone!!

It is a rainy day here in the Northeast. I was home sick today as a result from side effects from my first Shingles vaccine on Friday. I would rather have these side effects than Shingles, though. I know a number of people who have had it and it is very painful and can last a long time. I would rather be exhausted and have some swollen glands than that!!

I was able to make some card yesterday for a challenge. I am posting them really quick to make some deadlines. First, I created a card for Freshly Made Sketches #505.

Here is the sketch:

I used a TON of scraps on this and only really had to die cut the orange botanical for this card.

The sentiment and the stamping in the background were done with an old PaperTrey Ink set called Hands of Time. I have been trying to dig in to my stash to use things that I still love but haven't used in a long time.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Small Butterflies *stamp and *die set for my butterfly and *Curvy Leaves for my leaf element. The butterflies set has been my new favorite to use as of late!!

That is all from me today!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #529-Anything Goes!!

Hello everyone!!

It is time for a new Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. The next two weeks is ANYTHING GOES!!! This time we are being hosted by Di's Digi StampsThey are giving the lucky winner a prize of 2 Digital Stamps of the winners choice!

I do not own any of Di's Digitals so I decided to do something a little different. Instead of using stamps, I used die cuts on my card.

I used to scrapbook and have TONS of pre-made die cuts laying around so I decided to dig through them and use them for a card.

I added some PinkFresh Studio Curvy Leaves dies to die cut white leaves that I tucked under my colorful die cuts. I used a clear sparkle pen to give them a little shine. I even added some *Nuvo Drops in Gloss White to the flowers on the sentiment die cut.

I hope that you will play along with us at Cupcake Inspiration ChallengesI cannot wait to see what you create!!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Distress Inking and Copic Coloring for Some Challenges

Happy Tuesday everyone!! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend.

Chris and I are in full fledged empty nest and we actually were social for a change. We had my Dad and Stepmother over for a cookout on Sunday and went to a friend's house to spend time with my girls on Monday. We hadn't been all together for over a year. It was so refreshing!!

That said, I know we probably should have not gone anywhere. However, I am tired of being the only one staying home and socially distancing. I am vaccinated, I have been masking EVERYWHERE for months, and I needed these visits for my mental health.

I also had some fun making a couple cards for some challenges.

I created my first card for the Color Hues Challenge #TCH #25, Sunday Stamps #265, a color challenge,  Addicted to CAS #205-Nature and The Four Seasons Challenge.

I started off my card using a rectangle die to die cut a mask. I placed the mask over an A2, top folding, white card base.

I then blended Ranger Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Carved Pumpkin through the mask. I then used Tim Holtz Distressed Mica Stain-Set 1, over the top.

While the stain was drying, I die cut Prima Moroccan Foliage Dies out of white cardstock and used the same colored Distress Ink blend over the top.

I tied the three leaves together with 49 and Market Jute and adhered them to my card front.

My next card I created using this weeks Color Throwdown #658 and Freshly Made Sketches #501 as my inspiration. However, I missed the deadline for both. I am also going to enter this into the Inspired By Card Challenge #IB185, which is to use scraps on a card. I used PLENTY of scraps on this card!!

I started off using the Hero Arts Bold Script Prints background stamp using Hero Arts Charcoal Dye Ink on a Neenah White card base. I then stamped it again using Hero Arts Navy ink.

I then a scrap of light gray cardstock over the top. I then adhered a light blue rectangle scrap that I embossed with a polka dot embossing folder and a strip of blue pattern paper. I stamped a sentiment from MFT at the bottom of the blue rectangle.

I die cut some Pink Fresh Curvy Leaves out of vellum and Neenah White cardstock and layered it over the top of the card.

I then used a Pink Fresh butterfly from Little Butterflies that I had stamped with Tuxedo Black ink. I colored in the image with Copic Markers and then heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Gold embossing powder. I die cut it using the matching Small Butterflies die.

I adhered it to my card front using foam adhesive. My last step was to use some SB.com Clear Shimmer Pen.

Well that is all from me today. I want to thank you all for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Birthday and Sympathy Card for some Challenges

Happy Saturday everyone!! I am popping in today with some cards I created for some challenges!!!

The first challenge I am entering is the Twofer Card Challenge #36. This month it is Anything Goes!!! I chose to create a birthday and a sympathy card using a Simon Says Stamp Flower Cluster die.

For my first card, I chose to create a birthday card using just black and white.

I adhered a partial piece of the flower cluster over a white scalloped circle. I then adhered the circle over a border I die cut using the Macrame Border and Tassels die from The Greetery.

I then adhered some sentiment strips that I had in my stash. I like how the black just pops off the card. It is easier to see in real life!!

I am entering this card into The Color Hues Challenge #14, Black and White

On my second card, I actually used the piece of the flower cluster that I cut off from my first card.

Instead of leaving it white, I used some Copic markers to color the flower and leaves.

I mounted it over a computer generated sentiment that I die cut with an MFT Pierced Circle die, that was adhered with foam adhesive over my NEW Curvy Leaves from Pinkfresh Studio. I am supposed to be on a not buy challenge but it isn't working!!!

I have really been trying to use more pattern paper in my cards since I have a ton. This paper is from Lawn Fawn.

I am going to enter this into this months Flower Challenge#54: Shades of Purple and Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: Kath's Challenge-All Things Feminine

That is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!
