A New Challenge at Cupcake Inspirations Challenges-Challenge #576

Hello Friends!!!

I am just popping in today with a card that I created for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #576. This week starts a new round and it is a COLOR CHALLENGE.

Can you guess the colors used this week? Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #576 is all about using the colors TURQUOISE, RED, and YELLOW on a project.

I created my card with some images that were generously donated to us by our sponsor-Crafty Scrappers.

The dog and the balloon were just two of the images donated to our team. I created the little box in Photoshop so that the pup could peek out

The background was created using ink blending and a background stamp from MFT.

All the images were then colored in using Copic Markers. The sentiment was from my stash that I had stamped and cut out with a word balloon.

For more details on the challenge and to learn how to enter a random prize drawing from our sponsor, hop on over to the blog post for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #576.

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS week!!

There is Still Time to Play at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575

 Hey Crafty Friends!!

Today I am popping in with a reminder that there is still time to play with this round of Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575. It is a theme challenge-create a project with a RIBBON or a BOW!!

Below is the challenge badge for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575.

We have a sponsor for this challenge. I created my card with a Build a Garden: Grand Carnations Stamp/Stencil Set generously donated to us by our sponsor-Altenew!!!

I have never used one of these Build a Garden Sets before this challenge. One thing I loved about it is it not only contained stencils to use with the outline stamps but a stencil for the background. I used the background stencil from the collection on my card with gray ink.

I used the stamps and stencils for both flower images in the Build a Garden: Grand Carnations Stamp/Stencil Set. I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp the outline of both the flowers and the leaves.

For the purple flower, I used the Enchanted Garden and the Green Valley Mini Ink Cubes with the coordinating stencil. For my yellow flower, I used the Pocketful of Sunshine Mini Ink Cubes for the flower and the Green Valley Mini Ink Cubes for the stems.

I added a yellow twine bow over the stems and the sentiment was stamped using the same stamp set and die cut using a circle die.

For specific details on this round of the challenge and to see other cards by the Design Team, hop on over to the Cupcake Inspirations Blog

Altenew is sponsoring a random prize and I have an Altenew Stamp Wheel that I am giving away (US Players only-I cannot afford the shipping for international.) I bought two by mistake so one lucky, random US entry can win the wheel. For details, please see the blog post at Cupcake Inspirations Blog

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS Monday!!!

A NEW Cupcake Inspirations Challenge-Challenge #575

Hey Crafty Friends!!

Today I am popping in with a card for our NEW Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575. It is a theme challenge for the next two weeks-create a project with a RIBBON or a BOW!!

Below is the badge for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575

We have a sponsor for this challenge. I created my card with a Build a Garden: Grand Carnations Stamp/Stencil Set generously donated to us by our sponsor-Altenew!!!

They are one of my FAVORITE companies!! I actually have a subscription to their Paint a Flower series. I get a stamp set every month for $15.99. (no affiliate link)

I stamped the outline in Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and then stenciled the purple layers using the Grand Carnations Stencils and Altenew Enchanted Garden Mini Ink Cubes. I then used the Altenew Green Valley Mini Ink Cubes for the green layers.

The shading at the top was done using the lightest two colors in theEnchanted Garden cube set-Wisteria and Hydrangea. I then used a dotted stamp from another company to create all the tiny splatters.

I stamped the sentiment from the Grand Carnations Set in Andromeda-the darkest purple in the Enchanted Garden cube set. I added some Glossy Accents over "friend," a die cut bow from my stash and random purple sequins. This card made me SO HAPPY!!!

Playing Cards With Friends

 Hey Friends!!!

Today I am popping in with some cards that I created with a technique that I tried while playing cards with my friend Michele Ferguson from the I Card Everyone Blog. We both saw a reel on the  Altenew Instagram by Michelle Short where you emboss on black cardstock, shade the embossed image in blue and then give it some shine with some gold embossing powder. We decided to try it.

Instead of a tag like Michelle Short created, I embossed a whole piece of black cardstock with the Scenic Poinsettia 3D Embossing Folder by Spellbinders. I then shaded in the poinsettias with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide

I brushed on some Versamark Ink and added some Silver embossing ink by Ranger Ink.

I then added it to a card base and used a Birch Press Design sentiment die covered in silver embossing powder. Some blue pearls were added for a finishing touch.

My next card I decided to use an embossing folder by the Stamp Market on a forest green cardstock. I used two green oxide inks to shade the eucalyptus-Evergreen Bough and Lucky Clover.

I used some gold embossing powder on this card.

The sentiment is a die from Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment strip is stamped with a sentiment from The Stamp Market.

The gold sequins were added last.

For my last card, I went bold. Not my favorite, if I am honest, but I decided I would show it anyway.

I used an embossing folder by Altenew this time. I shaded it in with Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink.

I brushed on Versamark ink and covered it with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.

I added a sentiment from Memory Box and some gold pearls.

All in all, I had fun using this technique. I think it is more dramatic if I could have partially embossed my images but the folders were too big for me to arrange the paper the way I wanted. I am not sure I would do this technique again but it was fun to try.

That is all for me today. It is now it is time for you to hop on over to Michele Ferguson's Blog to see her completed cards.

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!
