Simon Says Stamp! card

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.

Just a quick post today featuring a simple card I created with Simon Says Stamp! "Friendship Circles" stamp set.

I did not use the dies on this but the used four stamps from the stamp set to create a simple card. I think I like making simple cards-especially when done in mass quantities!! I really only made one card with this image but colored it in with a bunch of others.

Isn't he cute? I just stamped the sentiment, the bear, the heart and the "string", and colored the elements in using Copic Markers.

Here is a little closer view of him. I used foam mount to adhere him on a scrap of red polka dot paper, added some diamond Stickles and three red sequins to finish the card off. I will be making more of these. I think the bear would be cute on a baby card as well!!

Thank you for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!!

Paper Smooches Birthday Card

Today I am going to show you a really cute card I created using Paper Smooches "Party Posse" stamp set. This stamp set is so cute!!!

I chose to use the turtle from the set. I have a "thing" for them I guess!!!

I chose to make a really simple card. I first stamped the sentiment. Then I stamped the turtle and the hat, next I colored all the elements in using Copic markers. I apologize for not knowing the specific colors I used. I did a bunch of coloring that day and didn't keep track.

To finish the card off, I used my white Signo pen to put a little white on the turtle legs for a "shadow" and used some Stickles on his shell and hat. I like him almost as much as the Lawn Fawn card I created with a turtle from yesterday's post!!

I hope you like my card. Thank you for stopping by!!

Lawn Fawn Stamped Cards

I just wanted to post two cards I created using Lawn Fawn's "On the Mend" set. The cards are EXTREMELY simple. Stamping, coloring, scoring and layering, that is all.

The first one is a little turtle. I colored him in using Copic Markers. I do not have a photo of the exact colors I used and I apologize for that. I did a mass coloring of different stamped images when I created this card and didn't keep track of which colors I used.

The card kind of looks off in this photo but it really isn't. I scored the sides at 1/2" in and used foam adhesive to mount it on the patterned paper.

I added diamond Stickles to the little shapes on the shell and to finish the card off. Isn't this little turtle cute?

The second card I created I used the flowers in this set with the same sentiment. I pretty much used the same design as the turtle card-simple, simple, simple.

I figured that this card could be used as either a get well card OR a general card letting someone know that I was thinking of them.

Again, I used Stickles on the card but would not use them again for this image. I put it on too thick and messed up the faces.

I hope you enjoyed my post for today. Thank you for stopping by!!

Post #2 for the Summer Card Class II-Week 3, Day 4 Homework

By day 4 of this week, I was wrung out. I could not create anything even though the artists showed us really fun techniques. I am not sure if it was the colors that were hard or having my brain come up with one more new idea.

I kind of went easy with myself on day four's homework. The instructions were to use a technique you had never used before. While I did not exactly use JJ Bolton's exact technique, I used the spirit behind it. If you knew me, I am NOT a metallic person. I like sparkles and shine but silver and gold-not my thing on a card or a scrapbook page. (With jewelry-that is a WHOLE different ball of wax, but I digress.) So in the spirit of JJ Bolton, I used gold on my card instead of the Kraft color.

One reason that I did not use her technique was the lack of small die cut letter dies. I don't own any. I also didn't have any more gold paper. I was going to make my own but alas, my gold pigment inks had DRIED UP. (They were probably about 8 years old so I didn't really expect much from them anyway.) Due to the lack of supplies, I had to improvise. I decided to cheat and stamp the word in brown first and then stamp it again with Versamark ink and emboss with gold. For the most part, I really like how it came out.

I did want to clarify that I stamped the medallions in the different colors BEFORE I stamped the sentiment. Masking glitter embossing powder is difficult. How would I know-remember I told you about mistakes? That is what you get  from trying to be LAZY!!

After all my stamping was complete, I still thought it needed something so I decided to add the gold gems. They were not exactly the same gold as the sentiment but I thought it was close enough. So what do you think?

Thank you for looking!!
