Happy Monday with a Some Cards

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

I had today off for Martin Luther King Day. I was not feeling all that well so I decided to hang out at home. I did go to the MD to get contacts-a first for this old lady!! I have powerful readers and was sick of wearing glasses all the time so decided to try contacts. Let me ask you-how do you who use them put these in and take them out all the time? It took a while!! I love that I can see things on my phone now without wearing glasses. It will take time to get used to, though.

I am popping in with some cards I created this afternoon. I used Spellbinders Die of the Month for July for all of my cards. I had die cut all the dies and pieced them together this past fall but never used the images.

My first card I created using FOUR challenges as inspirations.

I used this weeks Atlantic Heart Sketch #665 for my card layout. I used the colors from the Card Concept #223, with the addition of some green-not sure that is allowed but some of their DT used green on their cards too. I am also entering this in the Jingle Belle's Challenge-Something old-which is the gingham pattern paper from MFT, and something new to me, the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Typewriter Sentiments. I am also entering it into Make it Monday #269-use pattern paper.

I actually had to dig through my stash for this card. The gingham paper was among the many 6 by 6 paper pads I have. The strip of "wood" pattern paper was in my scraps.

The banner die is the Stitched Party Banners from Lawn Fawn. Don't know if it is even available anymore but it took me awhile to find it!!

I absolutely LOVE everything about how this card turned out!!!

My second card I entering into two challenges.

I used the Color Hues Challenge #125-Blue and White for my colors. I also used the Paper Players CAS #769-Signs of Winter, as inspiration for this card.

The layout of my card was inspired by one of the DT members that used this set in July. I liked the way the mittens were in the corner.

The background is the Filagree Snowflakes from Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is from their Holiday Typewriter set.

My last card I created just to use the remaining die cuts up. I am entering this into Just Add Ink Challenge #777-something seasonal and Inkspirational Challenge #359-Shades of Blue. I have not done this many challenges in a long time!!

This one is really simple. I love the gingham paper on the "sweater sleeves!"

I used a Distress Tool to distress the edges of the embossed paper. The sentiment is from my stash and I did not write down on the bag who made it. That is something I am going to be better at this year!!

Woooo!! This post was longer than I thought it would be!!! I apologize for that!!! I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a GREAT night!!

There is still time to play with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #608

 Hey Friends!!

Today I am popping in with a card to remind you that there is still time to play with this round of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!!! Challenge #608 is a THEME CHALLENGE-ADD A RIBBON OR A BOW.

I didn't make a card for this challenge but rather an ornament. I had started these ornaments during COVID. I had painted the noses and the heads but then did nothing. I am trying to finish unfinished projects in my craft room so I tackled finishing a few of these over Thanksgiving.

Below is the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Badge for Challenge #608:

I started off by painting toothpick for the nose and spray painting a styrofoam ball for the head. When dry, I covered the head with some Snotex for texture. When dry, I adhered the nose and beaded eyes for the face.

I also painted the top of the salt shaker white and added some glitter paint for shine, something you cannot see from the angle of the snowflake. I added some candy cane sequins in the shaker and used E7000 to adhere the head to the glass.

I added a piece of white embroidery floss to the top of the shaker and glued this onto the head. I then added trim around the bottom of the "hat" and around the neck of the snowman. My last detail was to add the wreath with the ribbon.

Want to join us this round? To see more details about the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #608, head on over to the BLOG. This is the last challenge of the year and we will be back again in January!

That is all from me. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

There is still time to play with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #582

Hey Friends!!!

Just popping in with to remind you that there is still time to play with us for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #582. This round it is a THEME challenge-HOME SWEET HOME.

For my project, I decided to pull out my Lawn Fawn Build a House dies to make some gingerbread ornaments.

I die cut my main house out of kraft cardstock. I then ink blended Distress Ink and Distress Stain to vary the colors.

I then die cut some of the elements from glitter paper.

Well, that is all from me. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Happy Holidays and a Few Cards

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday.

Ours was jam packed with family and it was nice. I also have had time to go to the movies, walk with friends and today I am going axe throwing for the first time!! It is a family activity that we are doing along with our neighbors.

Today I wanted to share some cards I created for a friend for Christmas. I had started them before Thanksgiving but then things got to busy for me to finish. The sentiment is the tag line of her charity that she has in the name of her late brother. I created each sentiment in Photoshop, printed it out and then used foil over the top.

This one I showed last week for a challenge that I didn't post in time but it is part of the set so I thought I would post again.

I used a Simon Says Stamp die and shaded red Distress Ink in the background for this card. I wanted to make each kind of simple because I figured she could send them out as thank you's.

As per my usual, I had to change up the design on each just a bit because otherwise I would get bored. Hence the square sentiment in the middle of the card below.

This particular green card is my least favorite. I had to put the gold border at the top because I didn't put the background stamp high enough. I had limited time so I couldn't do over.

The card below is how I originally wanted it to look. Simple, simple simple.

On another note, I have been having a really hard time. In order to feel better, I have been planning ahead for things to look forward to. One of the things I did the weekend before Christmas was to go to RI and tour some of the mansions that were decorated for the holiday. I have never been and it was so much fun.

The above photo is from the back of The Breakers Mansion. This place is just so ostentatious. All the gorgeous ceilings were my favorite things about this house!!

This was just one of the Christmas trees at The Breakers.

These were the two friends I went on the tour with. They are the same girls I went to Ireland with. We had a lot of fun walking around Newport, RI.

A poinsettia tree at The Breakers.

This is a replica of The Breakers in Gingerbread!!! The kitchen was gorgeous in this house!!

Some of the gorgeous ceilings for our mansion tour!!

We left at sunset and it was so pretty!!

We had such a great day. We did go to other mansions but they were not as nicely decorated as The Breakers.

That is all from me today. I hope you all have a great night!!

25 Days of Christmas Tags Day 20-CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hi everyone!! I am so excited to be here today to be a part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event organized by Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion Blog

I created my tags using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Mistletoe and Holly stamp set and matching Mistletoe Fri-Dies.

Each tag was die cut using the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Tag Buddies Fri-Dies. I die cut one tag from patterned paper and used white card stock for the other two.

On the white tags I did an ink smooshing technique using Distress Ink in two different colors. While they were drying, I stamped, die cut and colored the images using Copic Markers. I then added Nuvo Crystal Drops in white or red for the berries and covered the bows with a clear sparkle marker and Glossy Accents.

When the tags were dry, I stamped each with a black sentiment from the Mistletoe and Holly set.

Next I used foam adhesive to adhere each of the mistletoe sprigs to the tags.

I added some ribbon to each at the top and they were done!! Make sure to check out all the fabulous tags from all the other designers.

And to let you know, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is having a Black Friday special. If you place an order on that day, you will get a FREE mini-stamp set!!!

Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order-including sale items!!
