Some More Winter Cards...

Happy Hump Day!!

Today I am popping in with a couple of more cards I created using some old and new stuff from my stash. All the little colored images were stamped and colored in over this past year. This is what I do when I have no mojo. Coloring also helps me relax and we all know we have needed that in 2020!! I added them over some backgrounds that I am OBSESSED with making.

For my first card, I used a combination of Hello Bluebird and Mama Elephant images.

I started off by masking the background so that only a circle of the panel showed and I blended the background with Ranger Stormy Sky Distress Ink. I then stenciled some "snow" using Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil. I added the Hello Bluebird Holiday Flurries snowflakes stamped with SSS Steel Blue dye ink.

I used Simon Says Stamps Stitched Hill dies to create two hills and die cut them to fit the circles. I used some gray and blue Copic markers to shade the hills in.

I added a house and tree from Lawn Fawn's Winter Village stamp set. I added a snowman from Mama Elephants Little Snowman Agenda set.

I completed my card by stamping a sentiment in black using Mama Elephant's Mini Message stamp set and applying some Nuvo Glitter Accents for snow.

I am entering this card into a couple of challenges. Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge-layer it up. I layered the background up with blending, stamping and stenciling. I am also entering this card into this weeks Inkspirational Challenge #230-Mask. I masked the circle background on my card.

For my next card, I did a series of three circles that I masked and did the same background treatment on as the first card.

I then layered little bits that I had colored in previously, as well as die cuts, to create my scene.

The elves are from Mama Elephant's Little Elf Agenda. The presents are from My Favorite Things Birdie Brown set Jingle All The Way and the wagon is from the Lawn Fawn's Lets Go Nuts stamp set. I was not lying when I said I mixed a ton of companies together!!

I cannot tell you who made the snowflakes as I have a container filled with them from different companies. I like that I have them ready to take out and use on a whim.

My sentiment is from the same Mama Elephant set as above. (excuse that little heart you see in the photo on the snowflake. Apparently it was on my desk and stuck to it and I didn't notice until I was going through the photos!)

I am entering this card into some challenges as well. Darling Cardmakers Winter Blessings Badge-I used the snowflake as my inspiration. I am entering this card into Addicted to Stamps and More... Make Your Mark Challenge for all the coloring I did on these images.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS day!

Popping In....

Hello everyone!! Long time no post...or only posting for my DT gig!! I have been busy PURGING and moving my craft room upstairs and it is taking me a long time. I am NOT great at getting rid of craft items. I can purge anything else in the my house EXCEPT craft items. I hate that about myself.

Today I am popping in with a card for some challenges. Each was made by using stuff I had colored in a while ago and a bunch of stenciling/stamping/blending on the background.

I created a snowman scene.

I used a combination of Mama Elephant Little Snowman Agenda Stamps and Dies. The Snowflake die cut is Mama Elephant's Winter Taggins

I used Stormy Sky Distress Ink to blend the background and Simon Says Stamps Falling Snow stencil.

The stamped snowflakes are Hello Bluebirds Holiday Flurry Stamps and the sentiment is from their Frosty Friends.

I am entering this into some challenges. Just Us Girls #566-Use a Stencil, Happy Little Stampers-Anything Goes with Dies, The Jingle Bells's Challenge-something old and something new-(old-snowman, snowflake die-new-snowflake stamp) and Darling Cardmakers Inspiration badge-snowman and snowflakes.

That is all from me tonight. I hope you have a FABULOUS Monday!!

Some Challenge Cards

Hey everyone!! Happy Sunday!!

Just popping in with a couple of cards for some challenges. I have been busy making cards for relaxation and not blogging lately. Just too tired to do both.

My first card is for the Inspired By challenge.

I was inspired by multiple things on the image below. I combined the deer, the greenery, the hoop, a tree...I think you get the picture!!

I used Hello Bluebird's "Frosty Friends" images for the tree and the deer, and some presents I had stamped for something else that I am not sure where they are from.

The embossing folder is a Richard Garay folder I had from last year. The greenery is from Simon Says Stamp.

I adore how this card came out!!! However, I think the deer is a bit dark. I will use different colors next time I color him in.

I used a bit of Nuvo Glitter drops over a bunch of areas on this card. This has become my new favorite thing to use!!

I am also going to enter this into Just Us Girls Challenge #516-Anything Goes and this weeks Time Out Challenges#150-Merry and Cheerful.

My second card I created for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #414.

I kind of flipped it? Instead of the element strip at the bottom, substituting a little spray of pine cones and branches. I always hesitate when I do things like this because I don't know if I am supposed to go by the LETTER of the law or what inspires me?

I decided to use some of my Christmas pattern paper that I have TONS of in my stash, though this from this year and is Prima "Christmas in the Country" collection.

I combined and Echo Park die cut with the MFT sentiment. That sentiment looks wonky close up but IRL if it even!!

The pine cones, branches and leaves are from Stampin Up!! I coated the pine cones and branches with Nuvo "White Blizzard" glitter drops for some shine.

I really like how this card came out as it was kind of out of the box for me.

On another note, yesterday we decided to give our dog a bath and groom him a bit. We are trying to save money on going to the groomers, which is good. The clippers and Dremel have already paid for themselves after just two cuts at home!! However, it did take both Chris AND I to do it. Zack did not like the cutting part, though doesn't mind the bath or the blow dry.

I am pretty happy with how it came out, actually. Better than our last attempt!! However, our kitchen floor was COVERED with hair, as was I. I think I will be finding it for days-though we did use a huge sheet to try to contain the mess on the floor.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by and I will be back with a post tomorrow to with some more Christmas cards!!!

Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Second Post for Today

This is my second post for today. I didn't realize this sketch challenge was closing and I created this specifically for it so I decided to pop in with another post.

This first card was inspired by a sketch from the Global Design Project. I LOVE this sketch and think I will be using it again for some other cards.

I used a Mama Elephant penguin and some trees from Hello Bluebird as my images.

The stamp die is the same one I used yesterday but have no idea what company it is from. I cut off the name, something I NEVER do. The snowflakes are from a bunch I cut out last week while my husband was away.

I have kind of been on a Christmas card kick as I think I have to create all my cards for this year and I am WAY BEHIND!! I usually do a photo card of my daughter but since Thanksgiving is so late, I doubt I will be able to do it in time for Christmas. I have been spoiled for so long that it is killing me to have to make all of them again!!

Okay, that is all from me once again. Have a great day!!

Happy Monday and a Few Birthday Cards

Happy Monday everyone!! I had to check my watch to make sure it was a Monday as we just got back from vacation and I don't know what day it is anymore. The summer is flying by, much to my chagrin, and I still haven't done everything I have planned to do. Procrastination and reality is a beautiful thing!

Today I am popping in with a couple cards I created for some challenges this weekend. When I go away on vacation, I so miss my craft room. It does not matter how much fun I have or how busy I am, I cannot wait to get home to create something. Am I the only one that is like this?

Anyway, the first card I created is for Freshly Made Sketches.

I used this weeks Freshly Mades Sketch #398 as the inspiration for my card.

I started off by using two different stencils and two different Distress Inks for the purple background.

I added an image by Clearly Besotted that I had colored in with Copics and then decorated using Stickles, Glossy Accents and some glitter gloss.

The sentiment is from the Ink Blot Shop.

Supplies:

Other-Polka Dot Stencils, Big Shot, Yellow Stickles, Glossy Accents, Nuvo Clear Glitter Gloss Pen, Foam Adhesive, Scotch Adhesive, Lilac Lane Sequins, Ranger Multi Matte Adhesive, Picket Fence Blending Brushes

For my second card, I used CASE this Sketch #332 as my card inspiration. However, I flipped the sketch for my card.

I started off by masking off a circle and blending Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Crushed Olive Distress Ink with in the circle.

I then masking off a strip and using a cloud stencil with some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, made some clouds. I then added the grass that I had blended using the same green blend cut using some fringe scissors.

The mouse, butterfly and extra strawberry are from the Hello Bluebird "Field Mice" set and the berries are from Hello Bluebird's "Strawberry Jam" set.

Once again, I used the Ink Blot Shop's "Sentiment Label Blocks" stamp set for the sentiment.

Once again I used a mixture of Glossy Accents, Nuvo Glitter Gloss and Yellow Stickles on the strawberries and the vine.

I had so much fun coloring in these little Hello Bluebird images. It was a delight to finally ink them up!!

For my last card, it is a challenge card that I created for CASE This Sketch #329 but never posted in time.

Here is the card I created:

I had a lot of fun using my stencil and digging out some sticker letters for the heart.

Not a fancy card but I got to use some patterned paper on it, which the sketch cried out for.

I so hate when I create cards for a challenge and then never get to enter them!!

While I am here, I am going to post a few photos from our vacation. We took a road trip to Atlanta to visit my cousins, as well as the Charleston area where my husbands Aunt lives. I am not posting any photos from Atlanta as they are of my cousins kids and I don't like to post kids photos without permission.

We spent one day at Fort Sumter and then went into downtown Charleston.

We then had fun going to the beach at night. I took some photos of the sun set that I liked and Charlotte posed for me.

My husband's Aunt and Uncle with Char.

And the highlight of our stay in Charleston? Kittens!! My husband's Aunt is a cat lady and fosters kittens. They were SO DARN CUTE!!

This is Willow. She was my favorite. She was SO SKINNY!!! My husband's Aunt thought she had Siamese in her because even her tail was skinny and she ate like a pig.

This is Stella. She was adopted by a family the day after we left.

It got to the point that by the end of the vacation, all I had to do was walk into the room they were in and they would start purring. If I wasn't allergic, I would have taken one home! (I lived on Benedryl when I was there!!)

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by today. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!
