A Couple More Cards for Some Challenges

Hey friends!!!

Just popping in with some cards I created for some challenges. Both cards are get well cards as my friend asked me to create one for her and I always try to give a choice.

My first card I created was inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketches #600!! I try to play along most weeks but I don't always have time to upload. I wanted to make sure that I did today!! I also used this weeks Color Throwdown #757 as the color choices for my card.

I used Alex Siberia Designs Fantasy Flowers Die Set too die cut my aqua flowers. I added some white greenery from Altenew's Branches and Berries Die Set.

The sentiment is from Memory Box's Best Life Typewriter Sentiments.

Below are the badges that inspired these cards.

Color Throwdown

The second card that I created was inspired by the Less is More #490 and the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #518.

I started off by using a crackled dry embossing folder on the background of my card.

I then used the Postage Dies from Waffle Flower Crafts with some random stencils to shade in the stamp centers.

I added a die cut from Altenew's Branches and Berries Die Set that I had colored in with Copic Markers.

The last thing I did was to add a sentiment from a Mama Elephant stamp set.

Well, that is all from me today. Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a fabulous Sunday!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #526-Take Flight

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you all are having a fabulous September!!!

Today I am on the blog with a card that I created for this Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #526-Take Flight.

This challenge was really fun and I had to think outside of the box on what products to use because I own no stamps or dies with planes. I could have used other things but I really wanted to use a plane. I looked through some scrapbook supplies I had and found one in a Pink Paislee ephemera pack.

The acrylic element was perfect because it used some of the same bright colors that are on the  image badge. I was so excited that I had found something!!

I paired my plane with the Waffle Flower *Outlined Clouds die. I used both the positive and negative parts of this fun die on my card. I popped a few of the clouds up with *foam adhesive and others I adhered flat.

I added some *Diamond Stickles over some of the clouds too for a bit of emphasis.

I did not have the size I wanted for my sentiments so I created my own with my computer. I then adhered them over my clouds. I am quite happy with how this card came out.

That is all for me today. Head over to the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Blog to see the creations the other members of our design team created. I hope you decide to make your own card for this fun challenge. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Guest Designer for the Waffle Flower August Challenge-Unexpected Supplies

 Hello Crafters!!!

I am so excited to be here today as a Guest Designer for the Waffle Flower Challenge for August-Unexpected Supplies

Jeanne Jachna from A Kept Life invited me to be her guest for this challenge and we decided to go deeper with a mini theme-use supplies that you have not used in a while. I have decided to use brads on my cards as my "unexpected" supply.

Okay, to be on the level here, I am terrible about getting rid of things that I do not use. My husband this summer said that I should throw half my craft room supplies out as we were moving my room from downstairs to upstairs. I cannot get rid of things. I have a mental attachment and often when I give things away, I find that I need them or want to use them. This is why I have never gotten rid of my brad supply. Is anyone out there like me?

I knew what I was going to create the minute Jeanne asked me to join her for this challenge. I had just received a Waffle Flower order and had a design in mind. I decided to use Waffle Flower's Rustic Rainbow Dies, Outlined Clouds Die, and the Oversized Rainbow Stamps.

For my first card, I chose to use brads on the Rustic Rainbow die. My intention was to use brads on every color layer but I couldn't because I had less colors of the brads I needed then I thought. So, I decided to make an untraditional rainbow and utilize the colors that I did have. I made sure that I had enough of each color brad to use on every other layer.

I used foam adhesive to adhere the rainbow die cut over the Outlined Clouds Dies, that I had already glued to a sky blue card base.

I put together my sentiment, using the Oversized Rainbow stamp set, by stamping the first part in black and used different colored ink for the "rainbow" word.

For my second card, I made a traditional rainbow but only used brads on one layer. I had a bunch of yellow flower brads in my stash and I decided they would be perfect, since yellow was in the middle of my rainbow.

I adhered this rainbow over the cloud "extras" from the Outlined Clouds Die. I actually had die cut the clouds three times and the clouds on this card are two die cuts high.

On a few of my clouds, I added some glitter glue to make them sparkle and shine.

I used blue ink for the first part of the sentiment from the Oversized Rainbow stamp set. I wanted it to match the sky I had created by blending a blue ink over a white card base.

Again, I used the same technique for the "rainbow" part of the sentiment that I did on the first card. My card was complete.

I had SO MUCH fun creating these cards that I created another card using this technique with different Waffle Flower supplies that I will upload later on this week. I challenge YOU to drag out those brads to use on a card you create!!! Post it on IG with #WFChallenge2108 and tag me in it-@hobbitnoll-so I can comment on what you create!!!

I want to thank Jeanne Jachna and Waffle Flower for inviting me to be part of this challenge. Also, please hop on over to Darnell's blog djkardkreations to see what she created for this challenge. If I know her, it was something FABULOUS!!!

I want to thank all of you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS day!!!

A Card for a Challenge

Hello everyone!! Just popping in with a card that I created for the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog. I only have a REALLY short time to get it in so here I am!

I bought some fun things from Pretty Pink Posh this month and I NEEDED to use the Vacation Scene Die for my card.

I colored this in with Copic Markers to make it pop off my card base. I flipped the sketch too. Instead of horizontal, I made it a portrait card. Below is the Inspire.Create.Challenge #95 sketch that inspired me.

I put aside the Vacation Die Cut while I prepared the background.

I added a piece of white cardstock that I had dry embossed and layered it over a white, A2, Top folding, card base. (have no idea who made the folder, sorry!) I added my last piece of Basic Grey at the top.

I layered the colored die cut over my card front and used foam adhesive to pop up my Waffle Flower "Sisterhood" sentiment.

I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops on top of the green part of the umbrella and I was finished. I am actually going to make this a Retirement Card by stamping Happy Retirement inside. This looks like a Retirement Card, right? This is how I want to retire...even though I don't LOVE the beach!!!

Well, that is all form me today. Again, just wanted to pop in with my card for this challenge.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Day 3 Homework

Happy Wednesday!! Just popping in with my projects from Day 3 homework for my Watercolor Christmas Class. I like these cards a bit better BUT I will never just be able to do a one layer anything I have decided.

My first card was a card with some simple trees.

Again, I got a little heavy handed on my trees with the paint. They were lighter but I kept trying to blend and then this is what happened.

Since I spent so much time on them, I decided that even if I didn't love them, I was making a card anyway. I created a gold frame from some gold foil cardstock using the Waffle Flower Frame dies.

I also heat embossed a sentiment from PTI at the bottom.

There was another cards I was supposed to do with a different technique with trees BUT the masking medium I used was a disaster so I threw it away.

My third card was to create an ornament without any masking. This was actually kind of fun. The watercolor did not blend like I wanted BUT it came out way better than my other cards from the first two days.

I chose to adde a silver piece of mirrored cardstock for the top of the ornament and some silver thread as a bow.

The heat embossed sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

I actually thought that this card technique was relaxing. I liked trying to keep the paint within the circle and I did slowly layer the color down. Not perfect but getting better!!!

That is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!
