Happy Monday and Cards for Some Challenges

Happy Monday everyone!! I am back to work today after a week long vacation. In some ways I am glad to be back as I do not get paid when I am not at work, but in other ways, I enjoyed my down time. One thing I was able to do was get in the craft room. I should have CLEANED it but I decided to use the time to make some projects.

The first two cards I created were for the TWOFER Card Challenge. Here are the cards I created:

The idea of this challenge is in the badge below. The theme this month was zoo animals.

I almost didn't start this challenge as I had no idea what I could do. I do have animals but I always have a difficult time using them on cards. I decided on the elephants from the WPlus9 "Unforgettable" stamp set because I had some already colored in and die cut. This is what I used for the purple card.

I added the purple balloon and friend sentiment, and the happy birthday print out, because each was in my little box of leftovers.

I used a bit of glossy accents on the hearts in "friend" and on the balloon.

I am also entering this card into the Seize the Birthday Challenge #163: Anything Goes.

For my second card, I thought I was all set as I had the same elephant colored in a blue, with polka dots. As it always goes, I could not find any cardstock to match it and so I wound up stamping another one and coloring it in. I chose to make a baby card from it.

The background is a stencil and I die cut the layered circle out of cardstock scraps. The sentiment on a tag are tiny stickers that I have from my scrapbook days. LOVE how this came out.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!!

I am just posting a quick card today that I created for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #384. I wanted to make sure I got it into before the deadline!!

I created this using images from Miss Ink Stamps "Say Cheese" stamp set. I ADORE this little mouse and the images in the set are just too cute!

Below is the sketch I used as my jumping off point.

I flipped it clockwise so that it was landscape rather than portrait.

The sky was done with a stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and the rest was colored in with Copic markers. I did a TON of masking on this and am happy with how it came out.

I added some Diamond Stickles over the butterfly and Glossy Accents on the frog hat eyes and the cheese. I covered the frog hat with a Nuvo Clear Gloss Sparkle pen.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS night!!

Happy Easter and my turn on CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying your day.

I am over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog with a birthday card. I know, I know, you were all expecting an Easter card but what is the fun of that? I say expect the unexpected!! Below is a sneak peek of my card.

It is the most fun I have had using alcohol inks and coloring that I have had in a LONG time!! Hope on over to check it out!!

I hope you all have a FABULOUS holiday!!

CASE this Sketch Challenge #317, Alcohol Inks, Pink Fresh Studios and a Card Set

Happy Monday everyone!!

Today I am popping by with a few things. First up is a card I created for CASE this Sketch Challenge #317.

I have been playing with alcohol inks and have made a ton of panels. I decided to cut them down and made a bunch of cards from them. I thought this was perfect for the sketch.

Instead of leaving more room on the left side, I shifted the sketch so the indentation on the right was bigger.

The die cut was cut from Neenah Solar White cardstock with Pink Fresh Studio's "Floral Squares" dies. I actually cut three layers and adhered them together for some dimension.

It is hard to tell from the photo but the die cut is layered with Tonic's Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss.

As a jumping off from this card, I created a set of cards using different alcohol ink backgrounds that I had in a drawer, just waiting to be used.

I used the positives and negatives of the Pink Fresh Studio Floral Squares to overlay my alcohol backgrounds.

I used smaller sentiments for each card, and the card on the right I used Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder. There are specks of purple in it too because of something that was on my desk. I chose to not do it over because IRL it looks kind of cool.

Some of the alcohol panels are popped with white foam, some I chose not to pop up. I hate making the same card over and over so this gave me a bit of room to experiment.

I added Diamond Stickles to the dandelion for the card on the left and filled the flower on the right with Glossy Accents.

The scalloped squares were die cut from scraps of cardstock using Paper Trey Ink's Limitless Layers dies.

I had so much fun making these and LOVE how this set came out. I think I will be using these as a gift for someone in the future.

I thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!

Vacation and a Couple of Challenges

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. The weather has been warm but overcast here. My vacation is this week and it is not looking like it will be very good weather wise. I guess that means more time in the craft room!!

I was able to get into the craft room the last couple of days and create some cards for some challenges.

For my first card, I used the Bo Bunny "Pages of Harmony Collection" paper and some die cuts to create a sympathy card. Sadly, I have had to create a lot of these lately.

This card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #383 and Less is More Challenge #393: Subtle Colors.

These papers were perfect for the subtle color challenge and the die cuts I used were leftovers from another card.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words" stamp set. I am kind of obsessed with sets like this because the sentiments can fit anywhere!!

This card came together quick and I actually like how it looks.

For my second card, my inspiration came from the Paper Craft Crew Sketch #333 and the Just Us Girls Challenge #483-Off the Edge.

Again, I used "leftovers" for my card elements.

The stamps are Altenew's "Vintage Roses" and I die cut them using the matching dies. I had embossed an A2 white card panel ages ago and it came out wonky. I die cut a smaller panel out of it, which was perfect for the rectangle in the sketch.

The background paper is from Lawn Fawn's Spiffy Speckles 6" by 6" paper pad. I am working on using my paper rather than hoarding it.

Behind the white embossed panel is a scrap of alcohol inked paper and the die cut circle frame is a scrap too.

The roses are popped over the edge of both the white panel and die cut circle.

On another note, does anyone have an older dog? My dog turns 12 this year and he has changed so much. He is very vocal over everything-whining when he is out of water, when he wants a treat (which is every time I sit down!) and doesn't want to go out when I leave all of a sudden. This is all new behavior!!

Added to this, he is extra naughty. Yesterday when my husband was using our elliptical, he got into a sticky mouse trap that was in our furnace room that was in there for YEARS. I had to give his head a hair cut because there was sticky stuff all over him.

I have had a difficult time getting him into a groomers lately and he still has stuff on his fur that I cannot get off. I wound up buying a set of clippers and a Dremel yesterday to do it myself. Anyone groom their dogs themselves? How hard is it?

That is all for today. I thank you for stopping by. Have a fabulous day!
