Using the SImon Says Stamp! August 2026 Kit for Some Card Challenges

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am popping in with some cards I created first for an IG Hop using Simon Says Stamp! products. We were supposed to use last years Stamptember products BUT I didn't read the fine print and created cards using my SSS August 2026 Made to Flourish kit, and some "extras" that were on my desk.

My first card I used the Brightest Bloom embossing folder to emboss on a piece of watercolor cardstock that was included in the kit.

I used the three Distress Crayons in the kit (mine came in with worn lipstick, mowed lawn and fossilized amber) along with stormy sky, dried marigold and festive berry to watercolor on the embossed image.

I distressed the edges, adhered it to an A2, white card base and used a sentiment from the Made to Flourish stamp set..

I am entering this card into this round of the All Sorts Challenge #856-heat or dry embossing.

My next card I stamped around two sides of a white piece of A2 cardstock with the flowers from the SSS Made to Flourish stamp set. I then used Copic markers to color the images in.

Next I ink blended Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the entire card front. I also took some brown ink and water and splashed it across the front.

I distressed the edges and added Ranger Gilded Foundry Wax (not found in the kit) along all four sides.

I added piece of old book paper from a previous kit, some vellum from my scrap box, some jute and a stamped sentiment 3/4 of the way down the card front. To finish the card, I adhered it to a top folding, red A2 card front.

I am entering this card in this round of Inkspirational Challenge #374.

On my third card I crumpled a piece of old book paper, smoothed it out, blended and dragged Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the top to create the background.

I adhered it to a kraft, A2, top folding card base. I then used two of the Craft Consortium Flowers ephemera, popping one up with foam adhesive.

I tied a piece of jute around the front, added a sentiment and some gems. Can you tell I am kind of obsessed with distressing the card edges or backgrounds? It became a theme in this set of cards.

I am entering in the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #44-Anything Goes Floral.

For my last card, I did a bunch of different techniques. I first used a Worn Lipstick and Stormy Sky Distress crayons to ink smoosh color onto a piece of white water color paper. I embossed it with a burlap background and used Vintage Photo Distress ink to blend ink across the front.

I added a scrap of book print to the left side, distressed the edges of the background and adhered it to a white, A2 card front.

I took a scrap oval frame, added a jute bow and adhered it to the card front.

I used my Distress Crayons to color directly onto my stamps, sprayed some water over the top and stamped my images onto white water color paper. I used the water brush in the kit to blend in the flowers. When the stamped image was dry, I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to blend over the top.

I adhered the vase of flowers in the middle of the circle with foam adhesive. The sentiment was stamped a pink that matched my flowers, die cut out and adhered to the card front.

These cards took SO LONG to make. I am such a SLOW card maker but it was fun to use this kit, some supplies that I have accumulated and never used, like the foundry wax, and scraps from my desk. It was a successful creative session that left me feeling fabulous.

That is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Happy Halloween!!!

 Hey Crafty Friends!!!

Today I am popping in with some cards that I created for some challenges. They are all Halloween Themed!

My first card I had a BLAST making this background by masking off a "moon" and smooshing Distress Spray in blues, grays and black all over the background. I dug out a Hero Arts Christmas stamp for the branches and splashed on water and white acrylic paint for texture.

The sentiment is from Memory Box? and the cat is from Spellbinders. I LOVE this cat and IRL I am allergic so I stay away from them!!

I had so much fun creating the first card, I decided to make a second card that was just slightly different.

I created my background by ink blending Distress Ink in purple and green to white cardstock. I then splashed some white acrylic paint for "stars."

I also added some spooky bats for some ambiance over the moon. I actually like the first card better but sometimes it is fun playing with colors.

Both cards were inspired by cards from this weeks Just Us Girls Challenge #799. I chose to CASE Carol Mac's adorable Halloween card by using both the theme and the layout. I am also entering the first card into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge-Add Some Texture.

My last card for today is a bit different. Instead of cats, I made a Halloween card using Spellbinders Ghosts Dies!

The background was created by masking off a circle for the moon and then ink blending different shades of blue Distress Ink. I then splashed some water and white acrylic paint on for texture.

The sentiment was die cut from pattern paper using Kat Scrappiness alphabet dies.

I added my little ghosts around the sentiment. I think these are just adorable!!

For this card I was inspired by two challenges. I used the image from If You Give a Crafter a Cookie Challenge #209-October Spooky Fun as my inspiration. I just loved the little ghosts in the challenge image!!! I am also entering this card into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Anything Goes.

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS night!!

A Couple of Cards for Some Challenges

Hello friends!!

I am just popping in with some cards for some challenges. I love summer because I am able to spend time in my craft room. However, I should be cleaning it rather then creating. It is a MESS!!!

The first card I created was for Freshly Made Sketches #697. Last week I dies from Spellbinders Small and Large Die of the Month Club and die cut a ton of images. I decided to use the die cuts from the Large Die of the Month for my card. One thing that I had a lot of fun with is picking through all my paper scraps for my cutting.

Below is the sketch I used for my card. I am also going to enter this into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Anything Goes.

I dug out my Christmas Paper Pads to augment my card. The paper is from Penny Black Festive & Frosty paper pad.

I used a scrap of Basic Grey paper for the blue strips. How I wish that paper company still existed!!!

The little border is a die from Spellbinders and the embossing folder is Twirling from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is a sticker from Tim Holtz idea-ology Christmas Stickers.

My next card that I created is for the Jingle Belles Challenge. It was a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge and I chose the first column down-animal, die cut, red.

I started by embossing the white background using the Twirling embossing folder.

I used a little mouse that was from my stash but I believe is from Lawn Fawn. I think it was a Stamptember stamp purchase?

I had a blast making the red panel with different shades of red Distress Stain. I added some white acrylic paint and some foundry wax when the stain was dry.

I am not sure who made the sentiment. It was in my stash.

My last card is NOT a Christmas card. I created it for my husband's friend's 60th birthday. I am entering it into the Little Red Wagon Challenge #818-Masculine.

I used paper and die cuts from 49 & Market. This card is a 5" by 7" card, a size I NEVER create!!

I did a bit of distressing on the edges and then dragged Vintage Photo Distress Ink along the edges.

For the numbers on this card I used dies from The Greetery.

Well, that is all from me today. I have some other cards I created but will post them another time.

Day 4 of the April 2021 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Release: Introducing Flowery Background

Happy Monday!! I hope you are all having a good morning.

Today is the last day of the April 2021 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release. I created two cards using the new Flowery Background stamp.

On my first card, I heat embossed the new background stamp and used the ink smooshing technique to get some color onto my card front.

I used both Distress and Distress Oxide in green and pink on watercolor paper to get the effect I wanted. Once it was dry, I die cut it twice using a rectangle die. I then adhered it to a pink, top folding, A2 card base.

I off set both panels so that the pink of the card base was peeking out between the two rectangles.

I stamped the sentiment using the new Big Thanks Duo set. I first used a pink dye ink, then re-stamped the "thanks" with WOW! Clear Embossing Ink, and heat embossed it with TWO layers of WOW! Clear Embossing Powder

To give the sentiment some pop, I adhered it using foam adhesive.

On my second card, I kept it simple.

I stamped the Flowery Background with black ink onto a piece of white cardstock and splashed pink Distress Stain across the front. Once the panel dried, I cut it down and adhered it to a white, top folding, A2 card base.

I added an embossed sentiment and some leaves from the new Flower Duo set.

My last step was to use some Glossy Accents over some of the areas on the leaves.

All the new stamps and dies are available now in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Shop under the NEW section. Be sure to use my code, NORASENTME, to get an extra 15% off your total order!!!
