Some More Winter Cards...

Happy Hump Day!!

Today I am popping in with a couple of more cards I created using some old and new stuff from my stash. All the little colored images were stamped and colored in over this past year. This is what I do when I have no mojo. Coloring also helps me relax and we all know we have needed that in 2020!! I added them over some backgrounds that I am OBSESSED with making.

For my first card, I used a combination of Hello Bluebird and Mama Elephant images.

I started off by masking the background so that only a circle of the panel showed and I blended the background with Ranger Stormy Sky Distress Ink. I then stenciled some "snow" using Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil. I added the Hello Bluebird Holiday Flurries snowflakes stamped with SSS Steel Blue dye ink.

I used Simon Says Stamps Stitched Hill dies to create two hills and die cut them to fit the circles. I used some gray and blue Copic markers to shade the hills in.

I added a house and tree from Lawn Fawn's Winter Village stamp set. I added a snowman from Mama Elephants Little Snowman Agenda set.

I completed my card by stamping a sentiment in black using Mama Elephant's Mini Message stamp set and applying some Nuvo Glitter Accents for snow.

I am entering this card into a couple of challenges. Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge-layer it up. I layered the background up with blending, stamping and stenciling. I am also entering this card into this weeks Inkspirational Challenge #230-Mask. I masked the circle background on my card.

For my next card, I did a series of three circles that I masked and did the same background treatment on as the first card.

I then layered little bits that I had colored in previously, as well as die cuts, to create my scene.

The elves are from Mama Elephant's Little Elf Agenda. The presents are from My Favorite Things Birdie Brown set Jingle All The Way and the wagon is from the Lawn Fawn's Lets Go Nuts stamp set. I was not lying when I said I mixed a ton of companies together!!

I cannot tell you who made the snowflakes as I have a container filled with them from different companies. I like that I have them ready to take out and use on a whim.

My sentiment is from the same Mama Elephant set as above. (excuse that little heart you see in the photo on the snowflake. Apparently it was on my desk and stuck to it and I didn't notice until I was going through the photos!)

I am entering this card into some challenges as well. Darling Cardmakers Winter Blessings Badge-I used the snowflake as my inspiration. I am entering this card into Addicted to Stamps and More... Make Your Mark Challenge for all the coloring I did on these images.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS day!

Sending Strength

Happy Monday!!

I have had the day off and since I a finally feeling better after a week of being sick I have given myself some creative time. I had my eyes dilated today and found out that I need a stronger prescription for reading glasses. For someone who has always had stronger than 20/20 vision, this has been a bit disappointing for me. However, new glasses will help with the headaches I have been getting.

Today is also a sad day for me every year. I am actually glad that Columbus Day fell on this date. It is the 27th anniversary of my mother's death. I miss her each and every day but this day is always bittersweet.

Onto something happy!! Today I am posting a card that I created using the sketch from the Paper Craft Crew. I adore their challenges but alway am finishing up my projects after they close.

The sketch below is what inspired my card.

Instead of the circle, I decided to do a leaf that was die cut using Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies out of paper that I had done some ink smooshing on World Card Making Day.

I paired the leaf with Feathered Friends Mini 1 from Ink to Paper. The sentiment is Simple Strips Sympathy by Taylored Expressions.

I paired these with some pattern paper that I die cut using The Greetery's  Crimped Frame dies. I have been trying to use more patterns in my cards as of late because I have SO MUCH PAPER and I just keep buying more. A nice pattern paper is my weakness!!!

The paper I used is Crunchy Leaves by Prima and Full of Joy by American Crafts. I popped these up on a kraft card base that was embossed using the Sunny Studios Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I just LOVE how this card came out and will be sending it to a friend that I know is having a rough time of it right now.

Fall is my FAVORITE time of year and I did a bit of decorating a couple weeks ago but am just downloading my photos now. I created a wreath for my door.

I put my old scarecrow out with some mums. I don't decorate for Halloween anymore as we don't tend to get trick or treaters.

Above is my kitchen door and below is my front door.

I try to cover up my front stoop as we don't really use that door that much. I would rather people use the kitchen door because I can talk through the screen door!!

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!!

In Full Bloom

Hello everyone!!

I am just popping in with a couple of cards I created this weekend for some challenges.

My first card is for this weeks CASE this Sketch Challenge #378. While this card did not come out as I had planned, I am still entering this into the challenge anyway.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card:

The flower is the Peeking Daisy die and sentiment is Tiny Words, both from Simon Says Stamp.

The paper is from Lawn Fawn (gingham) and Prima (yellow flowers). I colored the flower in with Copic Markers.

I added some glossy accents to the middle of the flower and some gold sequins around the sentiment to finish the card off. Lately, I am in bling mode!!

My second card was inspired by The Fusion Card Challenge. I was inspired by both the image (the blue colors and flowers) and the sketch. However, I did flip the sketch to make it a portrait card.

I decided to pull out some of my pattern paper 6" by 6" paper pads to embellish my cards. I combined Dress My Crafts Hydrangea Lawns paper (background) with some Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Day stripes.

I then added flower pot with flowers that I die cut using Lawn Fawn's Little Flowers dies. I have had these flower dies FOR YEARS but have never used. They have been sitting on my desk to play with and this card was the perfect card to use them on.

The sentiment is from Altenew's Paint a Flower: Rose stamp set. I heat embossed it in white.

I do not usually make my backgrounds this bold but I LOVE this paper!! Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers, even if I cannot get them to flower in my yard no matter how many times I watch videos on how to care for them.

I am also going to submit this card to Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.
Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!!

Happy Sunday and a Few Challenges

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone is doing well. I have been doing a lot of creating, as well as organizing lately in an attempt to calm my mind. Sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't. I appreciate everything I have, though and am grateful for all the healthcare workers and critical people that are working at their jobs throughout all this. Such strange times.

For my first card today, I created a birthday card for a co-workers daughter. Her little girl is turning 10 and she asked for people to send her cards. Of course I jumped on the bandwagon and created the card below using Simon Says Stamps "Party Like a Panda" stamp and die set.

I chose to use the stamps that make up my sentiment from the SSS set. The cupcake is a new die cut I bought from Honey Bee Stamps. It is called "The Cupcake Builder" and I had a lot of fun coloring the pieces in with Copic Markers.

I also colored in the balloons with Copic Markers, then used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to give them some sparkle and topped it all off with some Glossy Accents.

The hearts on the front were left over from a previous project and I had to add them on for some accent. I used Ranger Shaded Lilac Distress ink and a stencil to create some soft polka dots on the background.

I even decorated the inside of the card as well. It is for a little girl so I had to make it festive!! I added a sentiment from PaperTrey Ink and some balloons from the SSS Panda stamp set.

I am entering this into the following Challenges:

Another thing I am trying to do is to challenge myself to not only use stamps I have not touched but also to create more than one card from a stamp set. So for my second card, I again used the Simon Says Stamp "Party Like a Panda" set to create a belated birthday card.

The paper is from PaperTrey Ink, the dies are from My Favorite Things.

I am notoriously the WORST at sending birthday cards so all the cards I should make for birthdays are belated!!! I colored in the Panda with Copic Markers and used a stamp from Lawn Fawn for the speech bubble.

This card I am entering into a couple of challenges as well.

(because I used a Panda! I hope this counts!!)

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope these cards make you smile!!

Have a GREAT night!!

EDIT: I never edit posts but Darnell told me I should enter this into the NBUS Challenge Blog and by darn, I am going to. If you have NEVER heard of this, hop on over because it is AWESOME!!!

Prom and Playing along with AAA Cards #89

Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!

My weekend was full of fun with friends and getting my daughter ready for her Junior Prom. I have to say that she was absolutely beautiful...and I think she felt like she was. Not only did she look fabulous in her dress but we got her hair done and it was so cool to watch the process. I think I loved her hair more then the dress!! Here are some photos of her:

I was so happy she had a blast!! Charlotte originally was not going to go but her friend's date fell through and she begged her to go with her. After, the parent organization put on a breakfast for the kids until 2 am. They do this so to discourage the students from going to drinking parties. They had food, a DJ, prizes-it is a huge production. Charlotte only chose to stay until 1 am as she was exhausted!!

Enough about prom!! I FINALLY have a card today!! I am playing along with AAA Cards #89.

I used the feathers (created birds) as my jumping off point and chose to use red as my bright and beautiful color on my card.

I used Lawn Fawn's "Love Letters" stamps/dies to create this card. The images were colored in with Copic Markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies.

I created the background of the scene using some cheap watercolors I had lying around.

I layered a circle over the scene and then popped the colored images over that. I LOVE how this came out!!

That is all for me tonight!! I thank you for stopping by!! Have a FABULOUS Monday!!
