More World Cardmaking Day Cards!

Happy Monday!! I am here with some more cards I created on World Cardmaking Day. I so wanted to create more than I was able to. I am such a slow card maker!!

For my first card, I used CASE this Sketch #342 as my inspiration.

This was a hard sketch for me for some reason. That huge circle/strip element threw me for a loop!!

I think I successfully solved it by using the leaves and the flower.

The leaves are from a Paper Smooches die, the flowers are MFT and the border is Pink Fresh Studios.

The sentiment is also from MFT but not totally sure. It was a scrap on my desk!!! The striped paper is from my scrap pile. LOVE how this card came out and it is so much prettier IRL.

My next two cards I did were using an ink blending technique and my Stamptember Hero Arts stamp set that I HAD TO HAVE.

Let me tell you the white flowers were a total accident. They were supposed to be black BUT I picked up white embossing powder rather than the clear I thought I did.

Don't care, though, because I LOVE how this card came out!! Used four different blue Distress Inks on this and paired them with a hello die cut from MFT and a Taylored Expressions sentiment.

I think I am in love with solid stamps again and will be using the ones I have in my stash!!!

My second card the silhouette was done in black, like the first one SHOULD have been.

I originally was going to use this for a color challenge card BUT the fourth color that I was supposed to use I just could not do. Instead, I swapped it out for the orange at the bottom. The purples were not Distress Inks and so did not get water spots like I wanted them to.

I had to do a little acrylic splattering on the card front using watered down white paint and a toothbrush to get the messy look I wanted.

The thing that enchanted me about these cards are how quick they came together. I think I am going to stamp a bunch of backgrounds at once and then do some fun blending. I see this as a future card set.

I stacked the WPlus9 hugs sentiment-the bottom being cut from a black piece of card stock-then layering a doubled orange over it, off setting it enough so it looks like a "shadow." I then covered it in Nuvo Sparkle Pen and Glossy Accents.

Well peeps, that is it for me today. I have one more card I created BUT have not photographed it yet. Was just too lazy today to do so. Will blog it later on this week.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS Monday!!

Some Good News and a couple of Cards

Happy Saturday!! Just popping in with some news and a couple of cards.

First, my dog has rallied and seems to be better. It was a ROUGH week all around but he is back to his whining for what he wants and begging for food like a champ. I was so afraid he would pass away before my daughter came home from college. However, she is home now and he is happy as any pup (or old geezer, which he is!!) can be to have all his people in one place.

Today I am posting a few cards in between Charlotte coming in to show me all the clothes she is trying on to see if she could keep them or get rid of them. She is the only person I know that loses weight at college!!

On my first card, I used the Fusion Challenge as my inspiration.

The colors from the butterflies on the door and I flipped the sketch so it was landscape.

Instead of the card base being one color, I shoe to layer a piece of striped paper on top of the tiny dots. The border is a combination of die cuts that I had on my desk and a border from some paper that was sent to me in a mini kit.

The stamped image is from WPlus9's "Hello and Thanks" stamp set and colored in with Copic Markers. I added some Glossy Accents and Diamond Stickles on top of some of the flowers when I was done.

Instead of the circle, I chose to mount the flower on top of a pink tag. The sentiment is a sticker from Carta Bella.

I have to say I LOVE how this card came out. I am really trying to use some of the patterned paper I keep hoarding so this was a win for me!!

For my second card, I used a challenge from a private board as my inspiration. It was to use a color inspiration challenge that had all these blues. I am HORRIBLE at color challenges but I thought this came out okay and was simple to put together.

The background was from my scrap drawer and the two die cuts were from Carta Bella's "Flower Market" frames and tags ephemera set.

I added some Diamond Stickles and two word stickers over the top.

I LOVE when cards come together so easily.

That is all from me today. I am off to do some playing on this National Scrapbook Day. I intend to try some techniques with some NBUS supplies I have in my stash!!

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Happy Hump Day!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! So far this day has been pretty tiring.

I was up all night with my dog last night. He has had intestinal issues in a big way and then had a MAJOR seizure at about 3:00 am. (He has been on seizure meds for 10 years.) Then, he couldn't move for an hour and had really shallow breathing. I debated on taking to the ER vet but he is old and we would not be doing any surgery on him so I wound up waiting and taking him to the normal vet this morning. Of course he did not act sick and ate this morning after keeping me up all night!! Anyway, we are trying a few things but it just has not been fun.

Today I am going to showcase some cards I created using some of the papers and images that I won from Lisa Elton from My Paper Tales. Below is a photo of the kit and the beautiful card she sent.

It was a mini kit and it was so FUN. I kind of failed, though, because I wound up mixing some of the images with stuff from my stash. This was my fault because I should NOT have colored some of the images in without matching the paper first.

For the my first card, all the papers and images were from the kit. I did use a die to cut the frame and the bow.

The pattern paper is from Carta Bella's Spring Market and the flowers are from WPlus9's "Hello & Thanks" stamp set.

I used Copic markers to color in the flowers and then added some Diamond Stickles and Glossy Accents over the top.

The center "tag" was popped up using foam adhesive.

For my second card, I used the pink cardstock from the inside of the frame as my starting point and matched it with the flower paper from the kit.

I added a Spellbinders frame, with a stamped sentiment that is from Memory Box.

Once again I used Copic markers to color in the floral images and then covered them with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen. The roses were then covered in Glossy Accents.

My next card I went off the deep end and added some of my own stuff to the card.

The green background paper is from the kit. I added the rose paper that I had from my stash (a piece of 12" by 12" paper that I cut a strip from) over the green. Then I tucked a pink tag with some twine behind a panel I cut from another piece of patterned paper.

On the focal panel I colored in the roses with some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen and Glossy Accents. I added some Diamond Stickles on the tiny flowers.

The entire black panel is then popped off the card with some fun foam.

For the last card in this bunch, I totally went off the kit. I only used the stamped image.

Isn't she sweet? I colored her in with Copic markers. It isn't really no line coloring because I could not cover up all the lines in the stamp but I think it is cute.

That brown piece of patterned paper is from my scraps and is about six years old!!! I added a purple frame that I die cut using Sunny Studio's "Fancy Frames" dies. This has never been used and I will definatly be using this again!!

The thanks was die cut using a SSS die.

I will be entering the first card in the Water Cooler Wednesday Challenge #219-Anything Feminine Goes.

That is all from me today. I thank Lisa for sending me this fun kit. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!

Split Coloring Cards

Hello everyone!! Today I am sharing four cards that I created using Jennifer McGuire's "Split Coloring" technique. When I saw this video I knew I had to try it. Making two cards out of one? Yes please!!

I created these cards a couple weeks ago but just never got around to posting them.

I actually pulled out some stamps that I have not used for both of these cards. The first one I used WPlus9's "Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia" stamp set. Jennifer showed cards done landscape style but I did not have the beautiful stamp set she used so I made my first two cards portrait length.

I colored the blooms in with Copic Markers and used Stampin Up! "Coastal Cabana" (retired) card stock as the opposite panel to stamp in a similar colored ink.

The sentiment used on this card is from My Favorite Things "Deepest Sympathy" stamp set.

I highlighted the flower with a little Copic Opaque White and a paint brush.

This sentiment is from Altenew's "Beautiful Quotes" stamp set and is one of my favorite sentiment sets as of late.

I love the embossed gold with the card stock color too!!

My second two cards, I used Altenew's "Beautiful Day" stamp set and my MISTI to create a flower display landscape style. This was kind of a pain because I had to do a ton of masking. However, it was all worth it!!

I actually created the tag from this post AFTER I created these. I figured I would make a few more to give away as a set.

I chose to use the same color of card stock as the first set, as well as the same sentiments.

I did color the main flowers in a different color but chose to color the accent flowers in similar colors as the accent colors in my first two cards.

This was not only FUN to make but I got to practice my shading on the big flower. There are so many layers to it that it looks so cool in real life!!

I chose to use the same sentiments as the first cards to make it a bit easier on myself. It seems that I can never have too many sympathy cards in my stash. I guess that is the age I am at.

Well, that is all for today. I thank you for stopping by and taking a look. Have a FABULOUS day!
