A New Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!!!

Hey Friends!! It is time for a NEW Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. Challenge #572 is a COLOR challenge. Can you guess what ones from my card????

The green is an extra color but Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #972 is all about using RED, WHITE, and BLUE on a card!!!

Source

Okay, okay, I probably should have stuck to the badge but I really am not a fan of using only red, white and blue on a card.

I don't send out patriotic cards for holidays so I went with coloring in my tulips red, the background blue and using white/red elements on my card.

The tulips stamp is a background from Simon Says Stamp! The border was in my stash so I am not sure of the company. The sentiment is from  Pink Fresh Studio and the rick rack is a die from MFT Stamps.

For more information and to see the addition of some NEW members of the Design Team, hop on over to Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

That is all from me today. Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

A New Release at the Kat Scrappiness Shop

***Affiliate Links are used in this post at no extra cost to you!!!

Hi friends!!

Today I am popping in with some cards for the NEW RELEASE over at the Kat Scrappiness Shop! It is all about HALLOWEEN and SHAKER CARDS!!!

My first card is a Halloween card I created with the new Kat Scrappiness Creepy and Kooky Paper and the Creepy Crawly Dies.

I used some of the Kat Scrappiness Hocus Pocus sequins, the Pumpkinlicious sequin mix, Eye Candy Sprinkles and  the Eye See You Sprinkles for inside my card.

Isn't the spider just too cute?? I had so much fun creating this card!!!

For my next project, I created a shaker tag with Heart Locket Shaker Card Kit at the Kat Scrappiness Store.

I covered the shaker in gold embossing powder and filled with the following colors of Kat Scrappiness Confetti Sprinkles: Ballerina Pink, Unicorn Pink, and Platinum.

I love the way this came out and cannot wait to use it on a gift for a friend!!

There is an Instagram Hop today in honor of the new release. The first stop is over at the Kat Scrappiness IG. Hop on over for what you could win when you comment on all the stops. I have a new creation with another new shaker set that I LOVE!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!!

Reminder for the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #536

Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Today I am here on the blog with a reminder that it is week #2 for the Cupcake Inspiration #536

The challenge is to use the colors pink and mint on at card. Below is the challenge badge for the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #536.

I used another digital image from our sponsor, Paper Nest Dolls. She generously gifted this the Design Team to create a card.

I colored in Cupcake Avery with Copic Markers and then cut her out with scissors. Isn't she adorable?

I layered her over an embossed pink panel and added some sentiments that I printed out on the computer.

I then added some sequins around the sentiments.

I hope that you will join us at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #536 and create a card. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Shaker Card

Today I had time to practice making a shaker card. As many of you know, I LOVE sequins but HATE making shaker cards. I thought today that I would try to get over my dislike of making them. I was going to use the FUSE tool that I have in a pile with other unopened supplies on my floor but I got nervous and just created one using the foam method.

Here is the card I created:

I know it is simple but it took me a darn long time!! I decided to use dies and patterned paper rather then stamping anything on this card.

The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh. Aren't they pretty? They go perfectly with the polka dot paper!

I am not going to go through a step by step because there are tons of videos you can watch versus me putting things into words. Besides, I would not recommend anyone copying my method. I am great up until I have to put the back on. I wound up putting  a second piece of acetate in back of the butterfly to enclose the sequins. Then I adhered it to the pink paper.

Things I learned making this card:
  • I am still not a huge fan of this method of making shaker cards. I prefer creating "Faux" shakers where I glue the sequins down in strategic places.
  • I think that I am going to pull out my FUSE tool for the next shaker card I create.
  • I like the simple die cut filled with sequins in the middle. It can make a very dramatic effect on a card.
  • I need to practice using the adhesive on the foam. It was sticking to everything!
That is all for today. I thank you for stopping by and looking. Have a great night!!

Birthdays!!

May has been a month of birthdays. It is too bad that I was not great at remembering everyone's special day. No matter how hard I try, I just cannot get my cards out on time. That does not mean that I don't try.

The first card I created was intended for my sister and is very simple. I actually copied the design from a pin but for the life of me, I cannot find it on my board.

I used layered a die cut piece of Kraft card stock over a piece of Basic Grey Paper. I then die cut a word window from white and stamped the celebrate using different color inks. I an pretty sure the celebrate is a PTI stamp but for the life of me, I don't know from which set. The finishing touch was to add some sequins.

I also stamped the inside using PTI's "Birthday Style" set but I forgot to take a photo of it.

The next card I created for my nephew who turned 14 on Saturday. It seems like yesterday that he was born!! Charlotte thought this and my last card were too "girly" but I over ruled her opinion!!

Again I totally lifted this card. The chevron stamps are from Avery Elle and I used Stickles glitter glue in red, green and orange to make the card pop. I think next time I would use glitter paper as I had a hard time staying in the lines. The sentiment is from PTI and I added the sequins for more pop. I like how this card came out for the most part and will be duplicating it in the future.

The last card was really simple. Again, I copied the original design from somewhere unknown. I need to go through my Pins on Pinterest because I have too many to shuffle through to find the posts to give credit to the original designer. I apologize if any of these were yours.

I created the present using Washi tape. I created the bow by die cutting pieces of felt using the smallest die from PTI's notched flower dies. I die cut three felt flowers. I folded the first one in half and adhered it together using a glue dot. I folded the next two flowers in quarters, adhering them together with glue dots and then cut the edges to "fluff" them out a bit. I then adhered each quarter on top of first. I like how it came out but think that I will try using an alternative adhesive as the glue dots did not hold the felt all that well. I stamped the sentiment from PTI's "Birthday Style" set and created the banner myself.

That is all for today. Thank you for stopping by!!
