Freshly Made Sketches #400

Happy Monday!! I hope you are all having a great morning.

I am popping in today to post a card for some challenges. I created a sympathy card for a wake I need to attend on Tuesday.

I used the Hello Bluebird Stitched Tag Builder Die set and MFT's Stitched Flower dies to create my card. I was inspired by this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #400 for my card and Clean and Simple Colours and Sketches Challenge as the inspiration for my card.

I had die cut all the flowers out of white and used ink to color the flowers in.

I scored the background to get the embossing for the background.

The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp's "WhatNot Sentiment" Set.

That is all from me today. Thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a great day!!

Some More Challenge Cards

Happy Monday!! My first full week off from work-woot, woot!!

Not only that but I will depart for Ireland for a 14 day trip with some friends to celebrate our 50th Birthdays on Friday. I cannot tell you how excited I am!! This trip has been months in the making!!

Today I am popping in to post some cards I created for some challenges. Instead of cleaning up my craft room, I have been using the supplies I should have been putting away!!!

My first card was inspired by two challenges.

I used the As You See It Challenge #202 and the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #225: All About Occasions Challenge as my jumping off for this card.

I rarely do color challenges because I kind of suck at them. However, when I saw this color challenge, I knew that I wanted to ink up the Echo Park stencil that was on my desk.

I also pulled out some Simon Says Stamps dies for the "happy" sentiment and the "birthday" is from Mama Elephant.

It took more time for the Glossy Accents to dry then it did to make this fun card!!!

My  next two cards were inspired by The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge and the Fab Friday Sketch #165.

I have not been coloring a lot as it takes time so I was excited that I would be able to participate a little before I went off on my vacation.

The butterflies were originally on a full sized panel, which I colored, but I decided to cut it in two so I could make two cards.

The butterflies are from Pretty Pink Posh's "Beautiful Butterflies" stamp set and colored in with a combination of Copic Markers and a white gel pen.

I also used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen over the top of the butterflies.

Under the panel I used the Pink Fresh Studio "Lacey Edgers 1" to die cut a piece of lace out of white cardstock. The sequins were added at the end.

My last card is the second part of the butterflies panel.

I used Stampin Up!'s "Dear Doily" set to stamp purple doilies on white cardstock. Then popped up my purple matted butterfly panel over it.

I covered the butterflies in Aqua Shimmer and Glossy Accents.

As you can see, these are both sympathy cards. I know people hate making them but I don't mind it. I think butterflies are appropriate too because they mean re-birth.

I am entering this card in the Time Out Theme Challenge #137: Nature.

Well, that is all from me this Monday. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!

Sunday Funday With a Couple Cards

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you all have had a nice weekend.

I had a nice walk with my neighbor this morning. I walk with her most weekends and it is so nice to walk and talk with a friend, while getting my exercise. We have a great route that has a bunch of hills so it is not an easy one but gets the heart going!! We got home just in time as it started to pour.

Since the weather has not been pleasant, I had more time in my craft room. Am I the only one that uses it as therapy? It brings me such peace!!

My first card was inspired by a AAA weekend challenge from the Facebook page. It was to make a card using only white. I combined this with this weeks CASE this Sketch #319 and Watercooler Wednesday Challenge "All About Occasions" challenge.

I only used dies on this card, which was kind of fun. I started off by embossing a piece of Neenah white card stock and then die cutting it with SSS Dot Scallop Border die.

I layered this over a white, top folding A2 card front and then added a white sentiment that I die cut using SSS "Sympathy" die.

I then adhered some white botanical die cuts over the right side of the card and covered some of the "flowers" with Diamond Stickles.

I am entering this into the following Challenges:

CASE this Sketch # 319
Watercooler Wednesday-"All About Occasions"

My second card I created about a month ago but didn't post it because it was for this past weeks Administrative Assistant day. I created this for THE BEST admin assistant you could ever want that works in our office. The full time para's decided she needed more than a day and brought her in a little something each day last week to celebrate. I could NEVER do this woman's job. She juggles about 10 things at once throughout the whole day. She is FABULOUS!!

For a fabulous person, I needed a great card.

This card is larger then the usual A2 size that I usually make. It was my intention to have us all sign it BUT I had a difficult time because the admin assistant was always around!!

I made it so long ago that I cannot tell you what supplies I even used. How bad is that? I am too lazy to go and figure it out too.

I can tell you from this photo that I was a bit heavy handed with the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen!! The camera really picked the shine up!!

On another note, are you following The Tiny Chef Show on Instagram? I am not one to follow things like this but stop animation has always been a favorite of mine. The person has the most amazing miniatures that I think they also create. (if you go down their IG feed, there is some amazing tiny stuff!!) You should check it out!! I would post a photo but am always afraid to take one off the internet due to copyright.

Anyway, that is all from me today. Have a wonderful day!!

CASE this Sketch Challenge #317, Alcohol Inks, Pink Fresh Studios and a Card Set

Happy Monday everyone!!

Today I am popping by with a few things. First up is a card I created for CASE this Sketch Challenge #317.

I have been playing with alcohol inks and have made a ton of panels. I decided to cut them down and made a bunch of cards from them. I thought this was perfect for the sketch.

Instead of leaving more room on the left side, I shifted the sketch so the indentation on the right was bigger.

The die cut was cut from Neenah Solar White cardstock with Pink Fresh Studio's "Floral Squares" dies. I actually cut three layers and adhered them together for some dimension.

It is hard to tell from the photo but the die cut is layered with Tonic's Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss.

As a jumping off from this card, I created a set of cards using different alcohol ink backgrounds that I had in a drawer, just waiting to be used.

I used the positives and negatives of the Pink Fresh Studio Floral Squares to overlay my alcohol backgrounds.

I used smaller sentiments for each card, and the card on the right I used Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder. There are specks of purple in it too because of something that was on my desk. I chose to not do it over because IRL it looks kind of cool.

Some of the alcohol panels are popped with white foam, some I chose not to pop up. I hate making the same card over and over so this gave me a bit of room to experiment.

I added Diamond Stickles to the dandelion for the card on the left and filled the flower on the right with Glossy Accents.

The scalloped squares were die cut from scraps of cardstock using Paper Trey Ink's Limitless Layers dies.

I had so much fun making these and LOVE how this set came out. I think I will be using these as a gift for someone in the future.

I thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!

Vacation and a Couple of Challenges

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. The weather has been warm but overcast here. My vacation is this week and it is not looking like it will be very good weather wise. I guess that means more time in the craft room!!

I was able to get into the craft room the last couple of days and create some cards for some challenges.

For my first card, I used the Bo Bunny "Pages of Harmony Collection" paper and some die cuts to create a sympathy card. Sadly, I have had to create a lot of these lately.

This card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #383 and Less is More Challenge #393: Subtle Colors.

These papers were perfect for the subtle color challenge and the die cuts I used were leftovers from another card.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words" stamp set. I am kind of obsessed with sets like this because the sentiments can fit anywhere!!

This card came together quick and I actually like how it looks.

For my second card, my inspiration came from the Paper Craft Crew Sketch #333 and the Just Us Girls Challenge #483-Off the Edge.

Again, I used "leftovers" for my card elements.

The stamps are Altenew's "Vintage Roses" and I die cut them using the matching dies. I had embossed an A2 white card panel ages ago and it came out wonky. I die cut a smaller panel out of it, which was perfect for the rectangle in the sketch.

The background paper is from Lawn Fawn's Spiffy Speckles 6" by 6" paper pad. I am working on using my paper rather than hoarding it.

Behind the white embossed panel is a scrap of alcohol inked paper and the die cut circle frame is a scrap too.

The roses are popped over the edge of both the white panel and die cut circle.

On another note, does anyone have an older dog? My dog turns 12 this year and he has changed so much. He is very vocal over everything-whining when he is out of water, when he wants a treat (which is every time I sit down!) and doesn't want to go out when I leave all of a sudden. This is all new behavior!!

Added to this, he is extra naughty. Yesterday when my husband was using our elliptical, he got into a sticky mouse trap that was in our furnace room that was in there for YEARS. I had to give his head a hair cut because there was sticky stuff all over him.

I have had a difficult time getting him into a groomers lately and he still has stuff on his fur that I cannot get off. I wound up buying a set of clippers and a Dremel yesterday to do it myself. Anyone groom their dogs themselves? How hard is it?

That is all for today. I thank you for stopping by. Have a fabulous day!
