Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #531

 Hello my friends!!

Today I am posting a card for a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. It is to use the colors brown, tangerine and blue on your card.

I have to admit that this was something I had to think about. I decided to use some dies by Spellbinders to create this card. Below is this weeks Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Badge #531.

I used the images on top of the cupcakes, as well as the colors for the my inspiration. The layered die cuts look like they have a flower image on them.

The polka dot paper is at least 10 years old and is from My Mind's Eye. I layered it over a light blue, A2 sized card base.

My sentiment is from The Greetery. It is a really simple card but I like how it came out. Sometimes simple is good!!!

That is all from me today. Please hop on over to The Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Blog and play with us this week. I cannot wait to see what you create!!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Inspired By Challenge Entry IB187

Affiliate Links Policy. All affiliate links are indicated by an asterisk.

Happy Sunday everyone!!

I am popping quickly today with a card that I created for this weeks Inspired By Challenge #IB187. I am hoping they are going to accept it as I DID NOT make a fall card.

Instead, I used the black window, the wood sentiment board and the yellow flowers and blueish eucalyptus branch as my color inspiration.

I started off by swishing Hero Arts *Unicorn Pigment Ink across the front of a Kraft A2 sized card base. I then die cut a frame using the Spellbinders *Candlewick Etched Dies from Hero Arts Pitch Black Cardstock. (and a shout out here-*Spellbinders is having a warehouse sale. I spent a lot of money there myself this week-don't tell my husband!!)

I used Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist *die cuts and stickers on this card for my embellishments. The gingham paper is from the Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist 6" by 8" paper pad.

I popped some of my embellishments up with foam adhesive and added some clear sparkle pen in some areas. Other areas I used *Glossy Accents to enhance a portion of my die cut.

I bought some Nuvo Vintage Peppermint Candy colored drops and used them to create the "enamel" dots to finish my card off.

I know I didn't use "traditional" stamps on my card but I really like how this came out. I have a couple more that I created but will post them at a later date.

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS Sunday!!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Reminder

Hello everyone!! I hope this finds you well.

I am just popping in with another card for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #522. This time around it is a theme challenge-Oh Birdie. There is still time to play along!!!

Below is the inspiration badge for this time around.

Source

I had fun playing with my new Spellbinders dies-Sweet Birds on a Branch for my card. I used a combination of Copic Markers and Distress Inks to color them in. I actually screwed up two birds in the making of this card. I tried to put "eyes" on them with some Liquid Pearls and messed up. Lucky I made more than one set of birds!!!

The background was done by shading Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I wanted to make the background more green than blue to give the illusion of leaves in the background.

I added some white gel pen on each of the birds for a bit more detail. The leaves and the wings also have some Clear Sparkle Pen on top. This set was so fun to use!! The sentiment strips I pulled from my stash and am not sure who created them.

I layered the strips on top of each other to take up some space. I love how this turned out!!!

Hop on over to the Cupcake Inspirations Blog to enter this challenge. I cannot wait to see what you create!!!

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!!

A Birthday Card for Freshly Made Sketches and The Flower Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone!! Today was a gorgeous day outside and it made me happy to be alive!!!

My husband will be working from home starting tomorrow and this week we have been told that the paraprofessionals will be contacting kids to help with their school work. I have helped a bit with math, like doing a problem or getting resources to help the kids learn for that math class but I am a bit worried about the kids staying motivated during this time.

Today I a posting a card that I made for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #427.

Below is the sketch that inspired this card:

I did move the sentiment and hope that is okay but the rest I kept kind of true to the sketch.

I used My Favorite Things A La Modes Martinis on Me stamp and die set for this card. I colored in the girl with Copic markers and added some Sparkle with Stickles

I used Candy Apple Distress Ink to shade in the back and the red strip. The red strip I made a bit darker so it wouldn't blend into the background.

I colored in a purple girl too but have yet to make a card with it!!

I created another card for this month's Flower Challenge #42, Anything Goes.

I combined a die from Spellbinders and a flower from My Favorite Things that I had colored in using Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

This was a rather simple card to make but I like how it came out.

In other news, one thing I have been doing is cooking. I made Chicken Chili and cornbread the other night for dinner at my daughter's request.

I didn't have any cornmeal and actually had to go to the grocery store to buy it. I wound up buying polenta cornmeal to use but it worked. The cornbread was actually better because of it!!

Well, that is all from me today. Keep your chin up and hope for the best!!

Happy Mother's Day and a card for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

Happy Mother's Day!! I hope everyone has had a fabulous day!!

Mine was low key. Charlotte had to work and I played in my craft room. Char did write me the most BEAUTIFUL note tucked into a new water bottle. It was the best gift ever.

I will admit something here, though. I HATE Mother's Day. It isn't because I am not treated well but because I don't have my mother to celebrate with anymore. I am thankful that I had her for the length of time I did but I miss her more around this time of year.

Today I am going to share a card I created for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #387. It was such a FUN sketch this week and I am so glad I had time to play!!

I blended oxide ink onto Bristol cardstock in Abandon Coral for my card background. I then die cut it with an MFT Blueprints die. I mounted it onto a coral cardstock base and then added some embellishments that were in my stash.

The flower elements were die cut using various flower dies, like Altnew, Spellbinders and MFT.

The sketch below is what inspired my card.

Another card that I created last weekend I created to use the free little stamp set that Altenew sent me a couple weeks ago.

I did fix the Nuvo drops that I used around the edge of the card. The sentiment is from Penny Black.

I love these snarky sentiments and wish I had the images to go along with them. I need to do some research!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by tonight!! Have a FABULOUS night!!

Happy Hump Day!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! So far this day has been pretty tiring.

I was up all night with my dog last night. He has had intestinal issues in a big way and then had a MAJOR seizure at about 3:00 am. (He has been on seizure meds for 10 years.) Then, he couldn't move for an hour and had really shallow breathing. I debated on taking to the ER vet but he is old and we would not be doing any surgery on him so I wound up waiting and taking him to the normal vet this morning. Of course he did not act sick and ate this morning after keeping me up all night!! Anyway, we are trying a few things but it just has not been fun.

Today I am going to showcase some cards I created using some of the papers and images that I won from Lisa Elton from My Paper Tales. Below is a photo of the kit and the beautiful card she sent.

It was a mini kit and it was so FUN. I kind of failed, though, because I wound up mixing some of the images with stuff from my stash. This was my fault because I should NOT have colored some of the images in without matching the paper first.

For the my first card, all the papers and images were from the kit. I did use a die to cut the frame and the bow.

The pattern paper is from Carta Bella's Spring Market and the flowers are from WPlus9's "Hello & Thanks" stamp set.

I used Copic markers to color in the flowers and then added some Diamond Stickles and Glossy Accents over the top.

The center "tag" was popped up using foam adhesive.

For my second card, I used the pink cardstock from the inside of the frame as my starting point and matched it with the flower paper from the kit.

I added a Spellbinders frame, with a stamped sentiment that is from Memory Box.

Once again I used Copic markers to color in the floral images and then covered them with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen. The roses were then covered in Glossy Accents.

My next card I went off the deep end and added some of my own stuff to the card.

The green background paper is from the kit. I added the rose paper that I had from my stash (a piece of 12" by 12" paper that I cut a strip from) over the green. Then I tucked a pink tag with some twine behind a panel I cut from another piece of patterned paper.

On the focal panel I colored in the roses with some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen and Glossy Accents. I added some Diamond Stickles on the tiny flowers.

The entire black panel is then popped off the card with some fun foam.

For the last card in this bunch, I totally went off the kit. I only used the stamped image.

Isn't she sweet? I colored her in with Copic markers. It isn't really no line coloring because I could not cover up all the lines in the stamp but I think it is cute.

That brown piece of patterned paper is from my scraps and is about six years old!!! I added a purple frame that I die cut using Sunny Studio's "Fancy Frames" dies. This has never been used and I will definatly be using this again!!

The thanks was die cut using a SSS die.

I will be entering the first card in the Water Cooler Wednesday Challenge #219-Anything Feminine Goes.

That is all from me today. I thank Lisa for sending me this fun kit. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!

Some Challenge Cards

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a nice day.

It is quite cold here today but the sun is shining. Apparently we are going to have ANOTHER Nor'easter this Wednesday and yet another foot of snow. I cannot wait for March to be over at this rate. I do not want any more days off from work!!

Today I am sharing two cards that I created for some challenges. The first card is for CAS(E) This Sketch #263.

I have been using some of my pile of never opened product and dug out the "Make Mine Lemon Lime" by Spellbinders and the sentiment from Sugar Pea Designs "Pucker Up" stamp set.

I shaded in the lemon and the lemon slice with some "Mustard Seed" and "Squeezed Lemonade" Distress ink. I also covered the online in the slice and the heart with Tonic's Aqua Shimmer Glitter Pens and Glossy Accents.

The strip of patterned paper is from the Recollections "Coastal Village" paper pad that I picked up at Michael's this weekend.

I added some google eyes and a smile to complete the card.

Here is the sketch that inspired this card:

While I was on this fruit theme, I created another simple card for the Fab Friday Challenge, Sketch #133.

I took a little liberty from this sketch and hope it will be accepted. Instead of a square, I used a lime die cut from the Queen and Company "Fruit Basket Kit." I bought this last spring and had never done anything with it so I pulled it out to make some cards.

I actually made a few cards from this kit but will post them at a later date.

I shaded the limes with Twisted Citron,Mowed Lawn,” and Peeled Paint” Distress Ink.

Well, that is all from me tonight. Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you all have a fabulous Tuesday!!
