Vacation and a Couple of Challenges

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. The weather has been warm but overcast here. My vacation is this week and it is not looking like it will be very good weather wise. I guess that means more time in the craft room!!

I was able to get into the craft room the last couple of days and create some cards for some challenges.

For my first card, I used the Bo Bunny "Pages of Harmony Collection" paper and some die cuts to create a sympathy card. Sadly, I have had to create a lot of these lately.

This card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #383 and Less is More Challenge #393: Subtle Colors.

These papers were perfect for the subtle color challenge and the die cuts I used were leftovers from another card.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words" stamp set. I am kind of obsessed with sets like this because the sentiments can fit anywhere!!

This card came together quick and I actually like how it looks.

For my second card, my inspiration came from the Paper Craft Crew Sketch #333 and the Just Us Girls Challenge #483-Off the Edge.

Again, I used "leftovers" for my card elements.

The stamps are Altenew's "Vintage Roses" and I die cut them using the matching dies. I had embossed an A2 white card panel ages ago and it came out wonky. I die cut a smaller panel out of it, which was perfect for the rectangle in the sketch.

The background paper is from Lawn Fawn's Spiffy Speckles 6" by 6" paper pad. I am working on using my paper rather than hoarding it.

Behind the white embossed panel is a scrap of alcohol inked paper and the die cut circle frame is a scrap too.

The roses are popped over the edge of both the white panel and die cut circle.

On another note, does anyone have an older dog? My dog turns 12 this year and he has changed so much. He is very vocal over everything-whining when he is out of water, when he wants a treat (which is every time I sit down!) and doesn't want to go out when I leave all of a sudden. This is all new behavior!!

Added to this, he is extra naughty. Yesterday when my husband was using our elliptical, he got into a sticky mouse trap that was in our furnace room that was in there for YEARS. I had to give his head a hair cut because there was sticky stuff all over him.

I have had a difficult time getting him into a groomers lately and he still has stuff on his fur that I cannot get off. I wound up buying a set of clippers and a Dremel yesterday to do it myself. Anyone groom their dogs themselves? How hard is it?

That is all for today. I thank you for stopping by. Have a fabulous day!

A Few Challenges

Hello everyone!! I hope you have all been doing well. This weekend has been so beautiful and I have been able to walk outside in short sleeves-which has been kind of exciting.

Haven't been here in a while. I have been watching technique videos and trying some new techniques, and revisiting old.

Today I have a couple of cards that I did for some challenges.

My first card I created for CASE this Sketch #316.

I actually flipped the sketch horizontally so the "triangle" was on the left, not the right.

Original and the flipped

I used Altenew's Beautiful Peony set to stamp a triangle and used an ink blender and an eye shadow brush to color the flowers in loosely with Distress Ink.

I created the sentiment on my computer because I did not have one this size to use.

I am also going to enter this into the Card Concept Challenge #112. I was inspired by the pink flowers.

My second card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #382. I used the same set up but tried a technique that is new to me-Alex Syberia's Dotted Coloring. I didn't have the correct markers so I tried Tombow markers. It didn't come out like hers but I don't hate it.

Here is the card:

I used Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink for the background and the drips are from drawing with the markers on a craft mat and picking them up with a brush full of a water.

When I was done, I covered it with Nuvo Clear Glitter Marker. The sentiment was once again created on the computer. Sometimes it just easier than stamping!!

That is all for me today. I am off to have lunch with my friends to plan some activities we will be doing when we travel to Ireland in June. I so need a vacation!!

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Day 7 of the March CAS-ual Fridays Release-Tin Roof Cover Fri-die

Happy Saturday!! Today is the FINAL day of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release!!! I hope you have had fun this week with all the sneak peeks on my blog. Today I am giving you a sneak peek of the new Tin Roof Cover Fri-die.

I have to admit that this is my FAVORITE card that I made for the whole release. I used the new Tin Roof Cover Fri-die, as well as a sentiment from Casual Comfort stamp to create this card.

To begin, I die cut the Tin Roof twice from turquoise cardstock and then adhered them together. Next I adhered the layered panel on the front of a matching A2 card front.

I added two patterned paper scraps on the front and used foam adhesive to add a sentiment strip.

My last step was to use some Nuvo drops in the center of each flower. This card was the EASIEST to make of all of my cards and I like it the most.

The Tin Roof Cover Fri-die is available NOW, along with all the new release products, in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store in the NEW section. Use my code NORASENTME to get 15% off your total order!!

Day 6 of the March CAS-ual Fridays Release-Just Breathe

Happy Friday everyone!! Today is day six of the March CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release.

I created a card using the new Just Breathe Fri-dies.

I combined these new sentiment dies with the Casual Trees Fri-dies and some of the negatives of a new die that will be introduced tomorrow.

I started off this card by blending Distress Ink on a die cut piece of white cardstock. I then flicked mist in silver, blue and white over the front of the card.

When the mist dried, I adhered the panel to a white, A2 card front. I added the blue die cuts and the die cut tree next.

I then added the sentiment that I had die cut out of silver cardstock. The last step was to adhere the sequins with a touch of Diamond Stickles over them.

This sentiment, along with the full release, is available NOW in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store in the NEW section. Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.

Day 5 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps March Release

Hello everyone!! I am here again with a sneak peek from the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release.

Today I am showcasing the new Noteworthy Fri-dies. You can use these dies as borders or making notepaper for your cards.

For my first card, I created a border with the die.

In addition to the new die, I used the Starlequin Stencil introduced on Monday and a sentiment from the Whole Shebang stamp set.

I added some silver stars that I die cut using the Fun-Fetti Fri-dies over the top of some of the border stars to make the card more festive. I tried to give it a masculine flair because I have a ton of birthdays coming up in my family.

My next card I used the Noteworthy Fri-dies to make a little notepaper piece for a pet sympathy card.

I created the background using Distress Oxide inks and a stamp that comes with the new Huggable Critters Fri-dies. The footprints are also from that set.

I added little Fun-Fetti hearts and a sentiment from CAS-ual Comfort.

This card was so fun to make and I plan to make a few more to have on hand for occasions such as this.

Below is a sneak peek at the borders:

Day 4 of the March CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Release

Hello everyone!! I hope you are all having as much fun as I am seeing all the fun, new products from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps March release.

Today I am showcasing new Trellis Cover Fri-die with a shaker card. I also used the die set introduced yesterday, Sweet Friend and the stamp set Pretty Posies to complete the sentiment.

I have to admit that I am the WORST at making shaker cards but was determined to make this work. I am not going to go through the directions for how I created this because I know there are plenty of people out there that are better at it than me.

I will say that I added a frame around the edges to cover up a bit of a mess I made when adhering the shaker to the white, A2 card front.

The "friend" was die cut from shiny, rose gold cardstock using the Sweet Friend Fri-die. The "thinking of you" was embossed using a rose gold glitter embossing powder. I assure you it does match but had a hard time photographing this card so you could see that.

With all the trouble I had making this card, I LOVE the way it turned out.

This Trellis Cover Fri-die is now available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store in the NEW section. Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.

That is all from me today. Be sure to hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog to see some more incredible creations using this new die and to enter into a giveaway.

I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!!

Day 3 of the March 2019 Release for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hello everyone!! Today is day 3 of the March 2019 release for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. I am showcasing the new Sweet Friend Fri-dies. For my project I created an encouragement card.

I started my card by used the negative of a panel that had been stenciled with the Tin Roof Stencil in lavender. I misted a piece of white cardstock using the stencil and then put a piece of white cardstock OVER the stencil to collect the extra mist that was on top, reversing the image.

While that was drying, I used the Tin Roof Stencil again with Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer. I covered the flower centers with Enchanted Stickles to match the lavender misted panel.

Next I die cut the "friend" sentiment using the new Sweet Friend Fri-die with purple paper and used the Somebunny stamp set for the stamped sentiment.

I took the misted rectangle and adhered to the card base using foam adhesive. Then I added the friend die cut, and the sentiment strip over it.

My last step was to adhere some sequins around the sentiment and use Cosmic Stickles for the dot over the i in "friend."

Here is a peek at what comes with the Sweet Friend dies:
