My Homework for the Spring Card Camp 2

Happy Mother's Day everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful day.

Charlotte had to work today so I didn't get to spend it with her. My husband made me a delicious Dutch Apple Pancake for breakfast, I went for a walk with my neighbor who I have been walking with throughout this whole shelter in place, brought a plant to my sister, who I have not seen in forever, and Chris made me a delicious dinner. It was a nice day all around. If you wondered, I did social distance at my sister's. Very windy day here and we all sat out in her driveway at a distance and talked. It was really nice

So now for my cards!! I have had a nice weekend watching the videos from the Spring Card Camp 2 from Online Card Classes. I have been behind in both the classes and the homework is I have had so much to do at work.

Day 1 of the card camp was all about masking.

I used Honey Bee Stamps "Zen Floral" stamps to stamp flowers around a circle that I had masked off in the center so I could put the sentiment. Not sure if this is what the teachers had in mind but I have to be different!

The colors were inspired by The Color Throwdown #592 and the Sketch is my interpretation of CASE this Sketch #371.

Not only did I mask the circle but when I stamped the Stamplorations "Be Somebody" sentiment, I masked off parts so I could stamp it first in gold, then in teal and the last in turquoise.

I will be honest, this is rather busy for me but I do like how it came out.

I wanted to utilize my smaller stamps again in a different way and I thought these would be fun.

My next card is homework for Day 4 of the Spring Card Camp 2. The challenge was to make a Statement with a Sentiment.

To be honest, I didn't have a ton sentiment sets to choose from. I have a lot of stamp sets AND sentiment strips sets but nothing out of the box like the sets that were used. SOOOO, I got a bit creative. I decided to use one large word and then use a phrase at the bottom. I used MY FAVORITE birthday set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps,  "Shenanigans".

In the lesson, the paper used was cardstock. I decided to go through my paper scraps and pulled out a mix of pattern paper and cardstock to use. I even used heat embossing because that is what was used in the video lesson-and heat embossing is not my favorite thing to do!!

Well, that is all from me today. I did do part of my homework from Day 2 but still need to finish my project. I also need to work on today's homework.

Before I go, I want to show you what Charlotte left me on the counter this morning so I could have it when I got up.

My FAVORITE chocolates, some "love mom" socks, a hydrangea candle and the most beautiful card. All I really cared about was the card. She writes the SWEETEST notes to me that melt my heart!!

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS night!!

Smile: Happiness is Contagious!!

Happy Friday!!

Just popping in with a card I created for the Online Card Class: Spring Card Camp 2. I am so happy that I took this class!! So far the techniques have been ones I have used but then the designers KICKED them up a notch!!

Yesterday's homework was to make your own stripes. Here is the card I created.

I used the colors from a Design Seeds color card to pick the colors for this card. I wanted to try to step out of my comfort zone!!

I originally wanted to make it a one layer card but as always happens, I tore my paper when taking off some of the tape and had to improvise.

I used Honey Bee Stamps "Zen Floral Stamps" to stamp inside most of my stripes that I blended on this card.

I stamped "Smile," a sentiment from My Favorite Things, in black on the striped panel and then emphasized it with a Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen and Glossy Accents. It almost looks like it is a die cut!!

I will be creating my next homework assignment after work to post tomorrow. I have never been successful with the next technique so cross your fingers that I can get it to work!!!

I am also going to be posting this on the NBUS Challenge Blog as I have had these Honey Bee Stamps for a while but have never used them.

I appreciate you taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

With Deepest Sympathy

Just popping in with a card I created yesterday for two challenges.

I was inspired by two challenges for this card-Freshly Made Sketches #433 and this weeks The Color Throwdown #591.

I knew I wanted to do these two challenges in tandem so I dug through my supplies and pulled out this butterfly from PaperTrey Ink's A Bit More Butterfly Blooms stamp set. I had gotten this set AGES ago and had yet to ink it up. I decided this was the perfect card to ink it up for.

I heat embossed the butterfly and colored it in with Zig markers. I pulled these out to try something a little different. I haven't been doing a ton of coloring lately and when I do, it is always with Copic. I am not great with these but they were fun to use.

Even the ink smooshing I did with the purple marker that I colored in the tiny dots in the wings. Mixed with water it turned out a bit more pink than I had wanted. However, I decided that it looked good with the butterfly so I kept it.

The sentiment is also from a PaperTrey Ink stamp set-Words of Comfort. This particular sentiment stamp is the one I use over and over.

Well, that is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Stay Strong

Hello everyone!! Just popping in for a QUICK post.

I created a card for this weeks CASE this Sketch Challenge #369.

I masked off and did some ink blended stripes at the bottom. I kind of changed up where the sentiment was and I added a wreath element.

I think I might have STRETCHED this one a bit but the sketch is what my jumping off point was.

I have been using A LOT of what is on my desk again. It is filled with colored and die cut images. I go on the rampages with stamping, coloring and then die cutting images and then they just sit there. The coloring part of the whole process is a stress release for me so I just continue to do it.

I have also been pulling out dies to use that are new or have been put away in my stash that have been unused. I would like to say that I have not bought anything through this shelter in place but I can't. I just figure that I am supporting small business when I buy!!

My last photo is kind of a joke. I put on jeans today just to make sure they still fit!! They are a little tighter but I can still breathe. I need to do this for all the pairs I own!!

I decided two things at the beginning of this week. I am going to try to be more positive about myself and others. Inside my head has been pretty ugly lately and I have been very judgmental.

It is hard for me because I am an avid reader, educate myself on everything so when people are ignorant and don't listen to experts, it bothers me. My daughter has been working through all this and the general public that shops have sometimes been downright awful. It has made me very, very sad.

That is the end of my post. I thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Have a FABULOUS night and stay safe!!

Some Cards for Challenges

Hello!! Just popping in to showcase some cards for a few challenges.

For my first card I created for Freshly Made Sketches #432 and The Card Concept #133.

I was inspired by the bouquet at the Card Concept and the Sketch below:

I used WPlus9's The Little Things stamps and dies for the all my stamping. (And yes, I know there is a misspelling in the sentiment. Didn't know it until this was already created. Sending it to someone that won't care.)

The lace border is from PinkFresh Studio Lace Edgers 1. The inks used were a combination of PinkFresh Studio and Altenew.

I am in LOVE with this stamp set!!!

For my next card, I used the Just Us Girls Photo Challenge #533 and the Color Throwdown #590.

I created my next card with scraps from my desk that I had left over from another project.

The flowers and the butterflies are from Reverse Confetti. I used the Butterfly Wreath and the Butterfly Wreath Confetti Cuts for the images. I colored then in with Copic Markers.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and the pattern paper is a HALLOWEEN scrap!!!

I just LOVE this card and how it came out!!!

For my LAST card that I am posting today is for the As You See It Challenge #224-Flowers and this weeks Time Out Challenge Photo Inspiration. I used flowers from Altenew New Beginnings and Sweet Pea flowers for my focal point. The green and other colors were inspired from the Time Out photo.

Here is my card:

I used Copic Markers to color in the flowers and used Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and a stencil for the background.

I used Aqua Shimmer Pen and Glossy Accents in the center of the yellow flower.

That is all from me tonight. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS night!!

The Last Day of the CAS-ual Fridays April 2020 Release-Heart Ribbon Stencil

Hello everyone!!

Today is my last project for the CAS-ual Fridays April 2020 release. I used the new Heart Ribbon Stencil to create my card.

This card was actually an accident. I originally used the stencil to traditionally stencil a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Mist Spray. However, there was so much ink on the stencil, I laid a clean piece of cardstock over it to REVERSE STENCIL this card front.

I decided I liked the Distressed look of the pink so I used this piece rather than the traditional panel.

I then went back and used some white glitter paste in the stencil to show case the ribbon a bit more.

My last step was to stamp a sentiment using the Heart Ribbon Stamp set and adhere it to the card front. I like how this card came out. It is a "messier" look than I usually go with but I think cancer is a "messy" diagnosis.

This new stencil, as well as all the new products from this release, are available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store RIGHT NOW!! Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.

Day 5 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps April 2020 Release-Musical Elements Chipboard

Hello everyone!!

Just a quick post today with the EASIEST project I created all week for the CAS-ual Fridays April release.

I used the new CAS-ual Fridays Musical Elements Chipboard, a sentiment from the Love Notes stamp set and some pattern paper to make my card.

I started off my card by adhering a piece of pattern paper sized 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" to an A2, top folding card base.

I then die cut a circle out of a scrap of cardstock that matched the background and heat embossed a sentiment from Love Notes in gold.

I adhered the circle to the card front using foam adhesive to give it a little pop.

I covered the Musical Elements Chipboard with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold. I then placed them over the die cut circle. So easy and I LOVE how it looks!!!

This chipboard, as well as the entire new release is available NOW in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store. Please use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order!!

To see more fabulous projects using this chipboard, hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog to see what the design team created.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by and I will be back tomorrow for the last day of the April 2020 release.
